Dear Matt Jones:

JUMP, Virginia Tech’s new Crowdfunding campaign has taken the campus by storm by utilizing
a unique platform to fundraise for various projects, scholarships and activities to benefit the
community both on and off campus. The Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research is one of the
first departmental categories recognized by the university to use this method of campaigning.

Beginning in February, the Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research partnered with JUMP to
complete their goal of raising awareness and fundraising for their conference. This year, Dr.
Diana Robins from Drexel University will be attending to speak about her research in early
screening for ASD in toddlers, a breakthrough study that will change the lives of thousands.

For the first time ever, the VT Autism Conference will host a workshop for all who attend the
conference in regards the Individual Education Plan Process. Teachers at local elementary
schools were encouraged to attend by their acting principals to expand their knowledge.

JUMP at Virginia Tech and The Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research would like to invite
you to a press conference in junction with our annual seminar to share research with the larger
community and how JUMP assisted in reaching their goals. The conference will take place
Friday, March 21, 2017 at 8 a.m. (Hyatt Place, 650 University City Boulevard, Blacksburg VA
24060)

Please RSVP by Monday, March 12 by 5 p.m. to Nicole Verdin at nicoleev@vt.edu
