Kappa Delta Pi

I have been a member of Kappa Delta Pi, West Virginia State University’s
Education Honor’s Society since 2017. As a member of this society, I have participated in
fundraising events, book fairs, meetings, and community service projects. I believe that
by being a part of extra-curricular activities during your educational experience, you form
meaningful bonds with people from different backgrounds and become more vested and
successful in your education. I believe that it is important to offer this type of
camaraderie in schools at all levels for all ages. I believe that being a part of something
bigger than oneself is empowering, inspiring and builds self esteem. I plan to try to bring
many different types of groups/clubs to my school for students to participate in. These
types of groups can provide cultural, educational and historical enrichment, which is
extremely important in our area of West Virginia where many students will go a lifetime
without these opportunities.
