Release Notes
Introduction
In these release notes, you will find information to help you install and use the
FastReporter 2 Data Post Processing Software application on your computer.
System Requirements
To be able to install and run FastReporter 2 on your computer, you must meet the
minimum requirements below:

Note: This application was meant to be installed on a computer only and may not
function as expected on other platforms.
Installing FastReporter 2
Before installing FastReporter 2, you should close all Windows applications.
Otherwise, you might experience a slower and unstable installation.
You must have administrator rights to perform the installation. Log on using an
administrator account or contact your IT department.
Disable antivirus, firewall, and diagnostic software for the duration of the
installation. You should re-enable the antivirus software and scan your computer
hard drive after installation.
To install FastReporter 2:
Insert the installation CD in the CD-ROM drive, then follow the on-screen
instructions. If the installation wizard does not start automatically after inserting the
CD, double-click on setup.exe.
If any of the following applications were installed on your computer, you must
remove them before installing FastReporter 2:
Batch Pro Light
Handheld Data Transfer
Optical Report Viewer
OTDR Viewer
Result Viewer
ToolBox 6
For Windows XP, Windows Vista (32/64-bit), you need to update the Operating
System with the latest service packs to upgrade the Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.
After updating the Operating System, and if the installation of the Microsoft .Net
Framework 3.5 is required, run the Microsoft updates provided on the installation
CD in the Utilities folder based on the Operating System or download from the
Microsoft website. If your system runs Windows XP, the update is automatically
installed by the kit, if required.
For Windows 8, Microsoft .NET framework should be installed from the Microsoft
website (you will need internet access to do so.
Note: The updates from the CD should be installed after installing the Microsoft .Net
Framework 3.5.
Note: If you have problems installing Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 in Windows 10, follow
the procedure indicated at the following address:

dism/.
Note: For the proper viewing of the FastReporter application, set the DPI settings to 96 DPI
(Normal Font size), 120 DPI or 140 DPI. By default, the DPI setting is set to normal,
but if the settings are changed, it can be reset to either 96 DPI, 120 DPI or 140 DPI
from the display settings screen in the control panel (Start > Control Panel >
Display > Settings > Advanced > General tab).
Removing FastReporter 2
You can remove this release by opening the Windows Control Panel and
selecting Add/Remove Programs, then selecting the application from the
displayed list of programs.

upgrades for your product.
