Engineering Reference Materials in IntelliVIEW
The Alpine IntelliVIEW software suite provides designers a list of Engineering Reference
Materials. This collection of internet sites can be used to search for engineering codes, approval
reports and general industry information. These helpful resources can be found under the
embedded Help documentation within the IntelliVIEW software. You can access these links by
clicking the “Help” drop down menu, and going to iDesign Help > Contents > Engineering
Reference Materials.

• AF&PA (American Forest & Paper Association)


The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) is the national trade association of
the forest products industry and advances public policies that promote a strong and
sustainable U.S. forest products industry in the global

• Alpine’s “Builders Guide to Trusses” and “Encyclopedia of Trusses” publications


The Builders Guide to Trusses and Encyclopedia of Trusses are intended as a guide to
architects, engineers, building designers and contractors for suggested uses of trusses.
The building code of jurisdiction and a truss design professional should be consulted
before incorporating information from this publication into any structure. The contents
herein are for the exclusive use of component manufacturers who use products from
Alpine in the sale and production of trusses.

• APA (Engineered Wood Products Association)


The Engineered Wood Products Association (APA) is a nonprofit trade association that
works with its members to create structural wood products of exceptional strength,
versatility and reliability. APA members are comprised of well-known industry leaders,

in North America, plus a host of engineered wood products that include glued laminated
timber (glulam), composite panels, wood I-joists, and structural composite

The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) is a globally recognized leader in the
development and delivery of voluntary consensus standards. ASTM standards are used

• ATC (Applied Technology Council)


The purpose of this Applied Technology Council (ATC) - Wind Speed by Location website
is to provide users with a site specific wind speed using the GPS coordinate system.
Using this website, users can retrieve wind speeds from ASCE 7-10, ASCE 7-05 and ASCE
7-93. Wind speeds are also provided for serviceability purposes for 10, 25, 50 and 100-

The American Wood Council (AWC) is the voice of the North American wood products

The West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau (WCLB) is dedicated to developing and

• WWPA (Western Wood Products Association)


The Western Wood Products Association (WWPA) represents lumber manufacturers in
the 12 Western states and Alaska. WWPA provides services to Western mills in three
