regional as well as national events.

T uguegarao City is a third class city and the capital of the Cagayan Valley
Region and it has been the regional and institutional center for Region II.
Known as one of the warmest city in the Philippines, Tuguegarao once recorded a
staggering 41°C and still holds the record in our country. Come and let us rediscover
the hottest city in the Philippines.

HISTORY
Tuguegarao holds its own line of historical sites one of which is the Saint Peter
Metropolitan Cathedral also known as the Tuguegarao cathedral. It is a 18th –century
baroque church built by Dominican friars. It holds the seat of the Roman Catholic
Archdiocese of Tuguegarao and one of the largest churches in the Region.
Another is a historical marker located at Balzain St., Tuguegarao City. It is a Cagayan State University. Named as UP of the
marker that commemorates our American comrades who fought for the city on April 9,
1945 - June 19, 1945. north it holds records as a board top notcher
producing school.
FOOD
Tuguegarao is home to the infamous Pansit Batil Patong. Batil patong is a kind
of dish made from pansit miki Tuguegarao, minced carabao meat (water buffalo),
bean sprouts and other vegetables topped with egg and chicharon. . Batil Patong if
directly translated means “beat the egg” for Batil and “placed on top” for Patong and
that explains the egg on top.
A CENTER FOR EXELLENCE
Tuguegarao been the home of different institutions that proved to excel in their
field of work. One of which is the Cagayan State University. CSU has been branded
as the University of the Philippines of the North. It proved to be effective as a learning
institution as it provided Top notchers on Board examinations as well as licensure
exams.
