COMPOSITION ABOUT MYSELF

Hi my name is Laia and I'm 14 years old. I was

born on 16th of January in 1995. I have got two
twins sisters, their names are Sara and Júlia, and
they are 8 years old. They were born on 16th of
January in 2001. I have got a parents, they are
married, their names are Ramon and Rosa. My
dad was born in 8th of January in 1966, and he is
43 years old. My mum was born on 1st of October
in 1970, she is 39 years old. My dad works in a
company, my mum doesn't work and my sisters
and I are students.

Every day I go to high school at half past nine until

two, in the afternoon I start the classes at half past
four until half past six. When I arrive at home I start
my homework and when I finish that I help my
mum to prepare dinner. Every Tuesday and every
Thursday I go to language school to study
English.
In my free time and every weekend I go to the
cinema, play tennis, go to the park with my
friends...My hobbies are dancing, singing and
playing basketball. I love music but I don't play any
musical instruments.
Mi rutina en inglés por la mañana
Me despierto a las 6 en punto. “I wake up at 6 o’clock.”

Me levanto a las 6:50. “I get up at 6.50.”

Me hago una taza de té y plancho la ropa. “I make a cup of tea and iron my
clothes.”

Me ducho y me visto. “I have a shower and get dressed.”

Normalmente me pongo vaqueros, una blusa, un jersey o una chaqueta y unas

botas en invierno, o una falda y una blusa en verano. “I usually wear jeans, a
blouse, a jumper or cardigan and boots in the winter, or a skirt and blouse in the
summer. I brush my hair, put on my make-up.”

Me peino, me maquillo. Meto en mi bolso todo el material para clase. Luego me

pongo el abrigo y salgo de casa. Voy andando hasta la parada del autobús. Lo
cojo a las 8:15, pago el billete y me siento. Tardo unos 45 minutos en llegar a mi
destino que está a tres millas. Bajo del autobús y camino hasta el colegio donde
enseño inglés. Tengo que fichar y coger la llave. La clase empieza a las 9:25 y
acaba a las 11:25.

“I brush my hair, put on my make-up. I pack my bag with all my teaching materials.
I then put on my coat and leave the house. I walk to the bus stop. I catch the bus
at 8.15, and then I pay my fare and sit down. It takes about 45 minutes to get to
my destination three miles away. I get off the bus and walk to the school where I
teach English. I have to sign in and get the key. Class starts at 9.25 and ends at
11.25.”

Mi rutina en inglés por la tarde

Almuerzo a las 12. Me como una baguette o un sándwich en la cafetería. A veces,
antes de volver al colegio hago algunas compras. Hago algunas fotocopias y
vuelvo al aula. Por las tardes doy clase de 13:00 a 15:00. Luego cojo el autobús
y vuelvo a casa y me relajo un par de horas antes de preparar la cena.

“I have lunch at 12. I eat a baguette or sandwich at the local café. I sometimes
do some shopping before I walk back to school. I do some photocopying and go
back to my classroom. I teach in the afternoon from 1 to 3pm. I then catch the
bus back home and spend a couple of hours relaxing before I cook dinner.”

Mi hijo se va a trabajar poco después de que yo llegue a casa. A veces hace él

la cena antes de que yo llegue y otras veces cocino yo. Me gusta comer arroz o
pasta con salsa. Pico la cebolla, la frío y la mezclo con ajo, tomate, zanahoria,
espinacas y chiles. Hierbo el arroz y luego añado la salsa. Después de cenar
friego, barro el suelo y recojo un poco.
“My son goes to work shortly after I come home. Sometimes he cooks dinner
before I get home, and sometimes I cook. I like to eat rice or pasta with a sauce.
I chop the onions, fry them and then mix them with garlic, tomatoes, carrots,
spinach and chilies. I boil the rice and then add the sauce. After dinner I wash up,
sweep the floor, and tidy up a bit.”

Mi rutina en inglés por la noche

Luego llamo por teléfono, corrijo el trabajo de mis alumnos, lavo la ropa. Después
me meto en Facebook o veo la tele hasta las 22:30 cuando mi hijo vuelve a casa.
Nos contamos el día y sobre las once me acuesto.

“Then I make phone calls, mark my students’ work, do the laundry. Then I go on
Facebook, or watch TV until about 10.30 when my son comes home. We catch
up on our day, and at about 11 o’clock I go to bed.”

Otros días me levanto antes, bajo, enciendo el ordenador y doy clase en EF

English Live durante tres horas. Luego hago una pausa, ceno con mi hijo, doy un
paseo o salgo a comprar antes de volver al trabajo y dar de nuevo tres horas de
clase. Trabajar en casa puede ser muy cómodo y me encanta poder hablar con
gente de todo el mundo. También es agradable ir al colegio y ver a la gente y
trabajar en equipo. Así que creo que tengo lo mejor de ambos trabajos.

“Other days I get up early, go downstairs, put on my computer and teach on EF

English Live for three hours. Then I have a break, eat dinner with my son, have
a walk or go shopping before returning to work and teaching again for another
three hours. Working at home can be very convenient and I love being able to
talk to people around the world. It is also nice working in a school and seeing
people on a regular basis and working in a team. So I feel I have the best of both
worlds.”

Asi os he descrito mi rutina diaria en inglés. En inglés existen muchos tipos de

construcciones diferentes que se utilizan para describir un día, incluyendo
muchos phrasal verbs como ‘tidy up’, ‘wash up’ y ‘get up’. También se hacen
muchas frases con verbos como “I have lunch” o “I get dressed” en lugar de “I
lunch”. Ten también en cuenta las diferentes formas de decir las horas. Intenta
describir tu día utilizando las mismas estructuras lingüísticas.
