Descripción de la Asignatura:
This course focuses on a student who understands sentences and expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (basic family
information, to go shopping, local geography, employment). They can also communicate in a simple way on familiar topics and daily-life situations
and learners can describe in simple terms, aspects about their background, the immediate environment, and subjects of immediate need.

Contribución de la Asignatura:
English is the international leading language of science, technology, business and even entertainment; therefore, this subject will contribute
greatly to the professional education of the students´ graduation profile at Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE

Resultado de Aprendizaje de la Carrera: (Unidad de Competencia)


Students can understand main ideas and specific information in short straightforward and clearly signaled texts with high frequency everyday
language with a relatively wide vocabulary range.
They can understand personal letters, and simple newspaper articles or interviews. Students can also understand the main points of clear
standard speech on familiar matters and on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest. They can take notes for future reference.

Objetivo de la Asignatura: (Unidad de Competencia)


Students can clearly understand the main points of a family conversation of work, school, free time, etc. They can deal with most traveling
situations where the language is spoken. They can also produce simple texts connected with family topics and personal interests. They can also
describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and, explanations for opinions and plans.

The students can speak, read, listen, and write different kinds of conversations and different real-life situation topics based on their lives in order
to understand other people, their feelings, emotions, and thoughts.
