MISSION OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
Local Mission opportunities
something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in….” Matthew 25:35
The Mission of the Month for April 2018 is “The Gathering.” “The Gathering” is a time and
place in the Madison community, when people are invited to come and share a hot meal and
fellowship with one another. This ministry was started in October 2004, to reach out locally to
those in need. Churches, businesses, and organizations in the area have taken turns; since
then, serving our community.
The members of the congregation of Trinity have volunteered for several years now to
annually serve a meal at ”The Gathering.” In May, we will again be serving the meal in the Fel-
lowship Hall of the United Methodist Church in Madison. If you and/or your family are interest-
ed in serving, please stop by the office to sign up. Our meal will be catered by DSU Food Ser-
vices this year, so the time commitment is only 4pm to 7pm on Monday, May 14, 2018.

together.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:36b, “. . . I was in prison and you visited me. . . and in
Matthew 25:40 He reminds us that , “. . . whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it
unto me.”
St. Dysmas

At least twice a year, members from Trinity attend worship in the Penitentiary Hope Chapel. The next
scheduled date for Trinity to attend the worship is May 31, 2018. If you are interested in attending the
worship opportunity, please contact Ann Marie Rossing (605)256-3851 or call the church office
(605)256-2771. Forms must be filled out and submitted by May 15, 2018 to our church office.
You are encouraged to consider visiting the prison and worship with the “family” of St. Dys-

percentage of the dine-in and carry-out orders. Please plan to join us for
supper with your family! This is a fundraiser for the NYG trip to Houston, TX.

Lutheran World Relief School Kit bags have now joined Personal Care Kit bags at the Mis-
sions table in the Narthex. Take one home, fill it with the items on the attached list and return
Mission Kits

to church by Rally Sunday, September 9.

Why school supplies? To the children who receive School Kits, these supplies mean the dif-
ference between getting an education or not. Public school is usually free, but in places
where LWR works, even a few required supplies, like pens and paper, may be more than
many families can afford. By providing basic items, you can help equip a child for a brighter
future.

Thank you to the following people that helped serve
