Procedure

a. Alignment
Have students point out the points of balance
Lead them through
Foot rolls, leaning forward and back
Knee rolls
Hip rotations
Rolling shoulders back to expand chest wall
Arm circles
Head bobbing and crescents
b. Relaxation
Go into a rag doll, hold where there is tension, go lower if able
c. Breathing
Breath in the rag doll position (counts of 4, then 8)
Through nose and out through mouth
Come up from rag doll
d. Resonance
Ne, ne, ne, ne, ne (ascending C major)
e. Low Range
Do, re, mi, re, do (on oo, starting at g major)
f. Middle Range
Di di di di di do do do do do, doe-oe-oe-oe-oe (starting D major ascending)
g. Upper Range
Bella senior (starting on D major ascending)
h. Tuning Exercise
Major chord, moving up or down
