Dear Parents of Classroom A,

Marta and I have spent the past semester working in the classroom with your students.
We would like to thank you for allowing us this time to spend with your students. Learning with
them and learning from them as we worked with Mrs. Heid and Mrs. Millan. In our time Marta
and I implemented three total lessons.

In our first lesson we introduced them the students to tools. The names of these tools and
how they work. Our second lesson, allowed them to work with these tools. This included
working with hammers, drills, nails and sand paper. They did a variety of things with these tools,
including hammering nails, and drilling holes into a wooden stump. Along with sanding down
the bark of the stump. They also had the opportunity to hammer nails into Styrofoam to
experience how nails join things together. Our third lesson included planning, where the students
thought of something they wanted to build or create, drew a plan for it, and used materials in the
classroom to create it. Our goal was to give the students real experiences and to give them an
outlet for their curiosity and knowledge. Marta and I enjoyed seeing how engaged they were in
these activities, working together and being creative in the process.

Along with completing these lessons, we built relationships with your children and with
Mrs. Heid and Mrs. Millan, knowing the importance of getting to know them so that they would
be comfortable around us and want to work with us. Marta and I really enjoyed this experience
and spending time in this classroom. We are grateful for your time and the influence that this
classroom has had on us and will take these experiences with us as we continue forward in our
education.

Marta y yo hemos pasado el último semestre trabajando en el aula con tus alumnos. Nos gustaría
agradecerle por permitirnos pasar este tiempo con sus alumnos. Aprendiendo con ellos y
aprendiendo de ellos mientras trabajábamos con la Sra. Heid y la Sra. Millan. En nuestro tiempo,
Marta y yo implementamos tres lecciones en total.

En nuestra primera lección, les presentamos a los alumnos las herramientas. Los nombres de
estas herramientas y cómo funcionan. Nuestra segunda lección, les permitió trabajar con estas
herramientas. Esto incluyó trabajar con martillos, taladros, clavos y papel de lija. Hicieron una
variedad de cosas con estas herramientas, como martillar clavos y perforar agujeros en un tronco
de madera. Junto con lijar la corteza del tocón. También tuvieron la oportunidad de clavar clavos
en espuma de poliestireno para experimentar cómo las uñas unen las cosas. Nuestra tercera
lección incluyó la planificación, donde los estudiantes pensaban en algo que querían construir o
crear, trazaron un plan para él y usaron materiales en el aula para crearlo. Nuestro objetivo era
brindarles a los estudiantes experiencias reales y darles una salida para su curiosidad y
conocimiento. Marta y yo disfrutamos de ver cuán comprometidos estaban en estas actividades,
trabajando juntos y siendo creativos en el proceso.

Junto con completar estas lecciones, construimos relaciones con sus hijos y con la Sra. Heid y la
Sra. Millan, sabiendo la importancia de conocerlos para que se sientan cómodos con nosotros y
quieran trabajar con nosotros. Marta y yo realmente disfrutamos de esta experiencia y de pasar
tiempo en este aula. Estamos agradecidos por su tiempo y la influencia que este salón de clase ha
tenido en nosotros y tomará estas experiencias con nosotros a medida que avancemos en nuestra
educación.
