Over $60million in Waste and Cost Blowouts in Frankston Alone

South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP, Inga Peulich MLC slammed Daniel Andrews’ State Labor Budget for
delivering very little to City of Frankston residents and their families.

Ms Peulich said that Frankston residents are going to be much worse off as the result of the state budget -
taxes have been ramped up and projects in Frankston have delayed, bungled and blown out.

Under Daniel Andrews, the annual Victorian state tax take has increased by $6.2 billion. This represents
a 35% tax increase. Victoria is now the highest taxing state in Australia, introducing 12 new taxes.

Labor’s tax grab will lead to even higher household bills, higher taxes, more crime and congestion, that will
remain for years to come.

Daniel Andrews had a chance in this budget to deliver real relief to struggling households in Frankston, but
instead he has delivered more of the same, with no hope that working harder will get you ahead. There is
no reward for effort for Victorians in this budget.

It’s never been tougher for Frankston residents to manage household finances and residents of the City of
Frankston will continue to feel the pressure of rapidly increasing costs of living as the result of Labor’s dud
budget.

Massive Budget Blowouts include:

 Frankston Station Upgrade: Promised: $50 million

Cost: $61.8 million
BLOWOUT: $11.8 million

 Seaford (Frankston Line) Stabling Project: Promised: $187.4 million

Cost: $236.7 million
BLOWOUT: $49.3 million

Vital projects which have been slashed or forgotten include:

 Promised funding for upgrades to schools across Frankston continues to be unseen;
 Despite Frankston’s crime tsunami, there is no money for new police stations or re-opening police
stations closed under Labor;
 Electricity and gas prices continue to rise;
 Crucial funds for the Frankston Line Stabling in Kananook remain unseen;
 There is no money for much needed local sporting infrastructure;
 Emergency service units are still waiting for upgrades;
 Education standards continue to plummet as curriculum reform and amenities are ignored.
Additional comments attributable to Inga Peulich MLC:

“Despite Daniel Andrews’ record tax increase, crime rates in Frankston are increasing, road congestion is
getting worse, public transport is more crowded and less reliable, and the standard of education our
children is receiving is declining.”

“In Frankston alone over $60million dollars has been lost in bungled projects and the reality is that
Frankston households are worse off today than they were four years ago.”
