The teacher understands how students learn and develop, recognizing that patterns of
learning and developing vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social,
emotional, and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate
and challenging learning experiences.

Standard in my own words

Understanding how students learn and develop in different ways acknowledging the
different factors that affect student learning and development.

Description of Artifact
This artifact is a observation from a IEP meeting about a student that I have on a daily
basis. We focused on how to meet their needs in the general education classroom and
how the teachers can help this student be successful.

Indicators
1 (c) Collaborates with families, communities, colleagues and other professionals to
promote learner growth and development.

Rationale
I met standard 1 (c) because I was able to collaborate with a students family, colleagues
and other professionals to help promote a learners growth and development in my
classroom and in the school as a whole.
