Wedgewire Cylinders Kambalda Screens

Wedgewire cylinders are manufactured for all types of Kambalda type interstage screen panels are supplied ready for
mechanically and air swept cylindrical interstage screens. installation in all sizes required.

Standard cylinders are seamless which eliminates flat or high
spots, providing a better life. Welded support bars behind
the wedgewire are 30 mm apart for optimum mechanical
strength.
Cylinders are custom-made for specific applications taking
the aperture size and wedgewire profile as well as diameter,
height and flange details into account.
The segments are custom-made and suit the installation.
Kambalda screens are suitable for plants treating up to 350 m3/hr.
This interstage screening system is easy to retro-fit to a CIP/CIL tank
equipped with an existing agitator. The Kambalda panels use the CIP
or 28cp profile, either in 304 or 430 stainless steel and are supplied
with sealing rubber. No air is required to clean the screening surface
during operation.

close tolerances on apertures to be achieved.

Cylinders can be fabricated using different profiles specifically

designed for carbon recovery processes. The CIP and 28cp
profiles have high release angles resulting in good tapers
behind the screening surface, which results in minimal
blinding by carbon. The CIP profile provides an excellent open
area. The 28cp profile has the additional strength needed
for the AAC MPS and AAC Pump Cell cylinders where there
are higher forces due to the increased flow rates and slurry
turbulence.

304 stainless steel is used for applications subject to

corrosion, while 430 stainless steel is used in areas that
require abrasion resistance properties only.

Technical Data
Seamless wedgewire cylinders are available in
diameters up to 1 750 mm and lengths of up to 4 000 mm.
The minimum diameter of seamless cylinders is 550 mm.

of up to 40 000 tons per month or 50 m3/hr. These long life, low
maintenance units are custom designed to suit flow rates and cutpoints.
Multiple units can be fitted in a single tank to achieve the required flow
rate.
