If you have any questions, comments, or you have something you want added to
this guide then feel free to email me at “jagged_jim@yahoo.com” (without the
quotation marks, of course...) Some things to note before you email me:
-Make sure you put “P3 FES” somewhere in the subject line. If you don’t I
will likely think that the email is junk and delete it.
-Please read the guide before emailing me, it is quite annoying having to
answer a question that I have already answered in this guide. (...of course
if you’re not reading the guide then what are the chances that are going to
read this warning?)
-Do not, not, not, not, NOT send me ANY attachments with your email. I don’t
care what the attachment is, I won’t look at it and I will likely delete the
email immediately. (Also I will NEVER send any attachments with my emails, so
if you receive something from my email address and it has an attachment on
it, delete it, immediately.)
-Please use proper spelling and grammar in your email, it’s just common
courtesy. I don’t care if it’s perfect, as long as you make the effort.
Emails with “si teh awsome” in it, however, will likely be ignored.
-A pet peeve of mine is when people replace “you” with “u.” It’s only two
extra key strokes people, jeez.

1.3 (Aegis) - 6/16/08 - The FES rewrite is now complete. The Journey’s
Calendar and Tartarus Guardian sections have been
updated to be valid with both versions, I finally got
around to adding answers to events in the Social Link
section and also added the new Aeon S.Link as well,
and the Elizabeth Request section has all the FES
requests completed. Now all that’s left now is The

dedicated to the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club and
especially to Chris Bruton, just look at it as making
sure that it will be a moment that nobody will ever
forget. :P

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||Introduction [002]||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Persona 3 (or P3) is the forth (yes, forth) installment in the long-running
Persona series, which in itself is a part of the even longer running Megami
Tensei (or MegaTen) series.
The Persona series has had a bit of a checkered history when it comes to
North American releases. The first Persona was notoriously butchered, (The
script was altered to make it seem like the story takes place in America as
opposed to Japan, The character art was changed to a more western style, and
so on) the second installment was actually released as two separate games, of
which we only got one. (the second one) Thankfully Persona 3 is well
represented on its journey to this side of the Pacific, (Aegis/Aigis gaffe
notwithstanding) with a well written script and high quality voice work. (for
the most part *glares at Fuuka*) We even got FES, (eventually) an expansion

pack/directors cut of P3.
Since there are certain aspects of the game that happens in FES that doesn’t
happen in the original game (and to a lesser extent, some aspects in the
original game that doesn’t happen in FES) This guide uses tags to
differentiate between the two versions. Basically, if I put <P3> in somewhere
I’m talking about the original release of Persona 3 and <FES> means the later
FES release.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||Hints and Tips [003]|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
-Save often. Death can come unexpectedly in Tartarus, so make sure you save
every time you go there.
-Remember to Analyze every enemy you come across. As with previous MegaTen
games, knowing how to attack your enemies is vital to your success in
Persona 3. This includes Bosses, as although you might not learn anything
from it, it will affect how your party members react. (They won’t use attacks
that the boss is immune to, and they’ll exploit the boss’ weaknesses as well.)
-Wait for sale days when buying anything. Saving money is nice, isn’t it?
-Never take tired or sick party members into Tartarus, and if you are tired or
sick yourself then postpone any plans to assault Tartarus and instead get a
good night’s sleep.
-For the most part you should only use your Personae to attack and not your
weapons. You should concentrate on improving your Personae and armor before
improving your weapons. That’s not to say that you should completely ignore
your weapons, as the amount of damage done during an All-Out Attack is
dependant on your weapons.
-You don’t always have to do an All-Out Attack when you knock all the enemies
down. In fact, if you don’t think that you can kill the enemy with a single
All-Out Attack it’s better in the long run to simply relent and spend the
extra turn healing or buffing up. An enemy that has been knocked down will
waste their next turn by getting up, while an enemy that survives an All-Out
Attack will be up and free to use their next turn to make your life a living
hell.
-If you fuse a Persona with a Heart Item make sure that you register it in the
Persona Compendium. Registering the Persona will also save the Heart Item, so
you will to quickly resummon that Persona again and get multiple copies of
that item. (especially if you register it just before it gains that final
level needed before it gives you its Heart Item)
-Don’t just head back to the Dorm after school, do something! Improve your
Social Links, eat at a restaurant, see a movie, anything! By the same token
during the evenings when you’re not going to Tartarus you should spend your
time drinking coffee, singing karaoke, Or Visiting Game Panic (in <FES>) and
then studying in your room.
-Remember that it takes a LOT longer to raise your Academics stat than the
Charm and Courage stats. Make sure to donate 1,000 Yen at the Naganaki Shrine
Everyday (in <P3> at least) and study every night you don’t go to Tartarus.
(If you are Tired/Sick however, you shouldn’t study but go to bed early
instead)
-The size of the shadows doesn’t indicate the enemy’s strength, but rather
their numbers. A tiny shadow will result in a battle against a single enemy,
while a large shadow can have up to five enemies.
-Note that the amount of experience shown at the end of a battle is only what
the Protagonist earns, not what your allies/Personae earn.
-Contrary to previous MegaTen games, you actually CAN inflict status ailments
on bosses. If you are having problems with a certain boss you can try to
Panic, Charm, or Distress it to make things more manageable.

||||||||||||||||||||||||||The Journey - Calendar [004]|||||||||||||||||||||||||
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Due to the way this game is set up a traditional walkthrough is not the most
effective way to cover this game. Instead the guide for The Journey (aka the
main game of <P3>) will be split into two parts, one a calendar listing the

important dates as you progress through the school year and the other a boss
guide listing the floor bosses of Tartarus. Note that I will NOT be telling
you how to spend your afternoons or when to go to Tartarus in this guide.
Although it is possible to max out all of the Social Links in a single play
through, I personally find it rather restrictive (at least in <P3>, in <FES>
the restrictions on ranking up S.Links are somewhat relaxed) and will not
cover it in this guide. If you are interested in how to do this you can check
out penguin_knight’s Max Social Links FAQs for more information.

=============
================================|April [004.1]|================================
=============
-4/7: Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! Start by naming your
Protagonist. (Remember, it’s Last Name first, you don‘t want to spend
the rest of your life being called Smith John now, do you?) After your
introduction to Gekkoukan High you end up back at the dorm. There isn’t
anything going on here so just go to your room and sleep.
-4/8: You’ve got your first quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “Fuyuhiko
Yoshimura,” while the answer in <FES> is “Utsubo Kubota.” Answer
correctly for a boost in Charm. When you return to the dorm you’ll
meet Ikutsuki, ask him questions if you want or say “No, I‘m good”
to end the conversation, then go up to your room to sleep.
-4/9: There’s a lecture today in both versions, you can either stay awake to
get a boost in academics or take a nap for a chance to improve your
status. Personally I would recommend to never sleep through a lecture,
as you are going to need all the Academics you can get.
After school you skip straight to the Dark Hour. When you get control
head for the roof. When you get there you will have the first battle of
the game against two Cowardly Maya. Use Orpheus’ Bash skill to finish
them off quickly.
-4/18: School on a Saturday? Ugh. There is a Quiz today, the answer in <P3>
is “How the tools were made,” while the answer in <FES> is “Mud huts.”
When you get back to the dorm climb up to the 4th floor and the Fool
Social Link will be established.
-4/20: You will have your first foray into Tartarus tonight. It isn’t too
difficult, just make your way through the level, when you encounter a
shadow Mitsuru will give you a tutorial on combat. Listen to it (or
not) then use Agi to knock them down and initiate an All-Out Attack to
finish them off. Split the group up when Mitsuru tells you to, then
find the Access Point and return to the lobby. Your Fool Social Link
will improve to Rank 2 when you get back. Leave Tartarus when you’re
done.
-4/21: There’s a lecture today in both versions. You have your first free
afternoon today. After school go to the Police Station in Paulownia
Mall, when you get there Akihiko will give you 5,000 Yen, but don’t
buy anything at the mall just yet. (wait for the store’s sale days)
-4/22: After school is over you will be asked by Kenji, one of your
classmates if you would like to get some ramen with him. Do so and
you’ll establish the Magician Social Link.
-4/23: By the way, if you talk to the Student with Glasses near the door in
your classroom and let him tell you about the sights of the Bay Area
you’ll immediately warp to the city map. The school’s sports clubs are
recruiting today. After school you will be able to join the Swimming,
Track, or Kendo Teams. Join one of them (it doesn‘t matter which) to
establish the Chariot Social Link.
-4/25: The Bookworms Used Bookstore at Iwatodai Station will reopen today.
When you enter it the old couple there will mention the Persimmon Tree
at Gekkoukan. After leaving the bookstore return to the school and
find the Persimmon Tree at the courtyard connecting the main building
with the gym then examine it to get a Persimmon Leaf. Take the leaf
back to the bookstore and show it to them to establish the Hierophant
Social Link.
-4/27: There’s a Quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “2,” (duh) while the
answer in <FES> is “6,000 years ago.” After school Mitsuru will talk
to you about joining the Student Council. Head down to the Faculty
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 4/53

Office and talk to Ms. Toriumi about joining the Student Council. From
there you can head to the Student Council Room to establish the
Emperor Social Link.
-4/29: If you decide to play Innocent Sin Online today, you’ll establish the
Hermit Social Link. Just be aware that playing the game will take up
the entire day. (meaning you’ll skip the Evening period and go
straight to the next day)
-4/30: There is a lecture today in both versions. When you get back to the
dorm you’ll get a call from Elizabeth telling you to come to the
Velvet Room. When you go to the Velvet Room Elizabeth will start her
Requests side quest.
===========
=================================|May [004.2]|=================================
===========
-5/3: If you turn on the TV in you room today (and every Sunday for the rest
of the year) you will get a home shopping program. If you order
whatever is being sold on the program it will be delivered to your room
on the following Tuesday. (If you are exploring Tartarus on that day
you will get the items the next time you go to your room) This week’s
items are a Slash Ward and a Sappy Jelly for 2980 Yen. Oh, and by the
way, if you have plans to meet with someone on Sundays you won’t be
able to watch the home shopping program.
-5/5: Make sure that you buy a “Mad Bull” item from one of the Dorm’s Vending
Machines tonight, as you’ll need it tomorrow.
-5/6: There’s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “Basic,” while the answer
in <FES> is “Soft Water.” After school is over go to Naganaki Shrine
and talk to the girl standing by the Jungle Gym. She will introduce
herself as Maiko and then ask you for some food, so go and buy some
“Weird Takoyaki” from the Takoyaki stand in Iwatodai Station and give
them to her. Now she wants something to drink so give her that Mad Bull
you got yesterday. (You did get one, right?) She will ask if you’ll
play with her again tomorrow. Agree to do so.
-5/7: Head back to Naganaki Shrine and play with Maiko to establish the
Hanged Man Social Link.
-5/8: This is the day before the Full Moon, and although the game doesn’t
mention anything about it (other than that rather ominous countdown in
the upper right corner of the screen) there is something I should
mention about these days. In <P3> your and everyone else’s status will
be locked at “Good” today, and if you were tired or sick you will be
instantly upgraded to “Good.” (but on the flip side, if your status was
“Great” then you will be downgraded to “Good”) This essentially gives
you unlimited time in Tartarus. In <FES> however, you will NOT have
infinite stamina on the nights before the full moon and you will get
tired. It does take longer to get tired on these nights, and allies
that are tired won’t automatically leave Tartarus the next time you go
back to the lobby. Also keep in mind that if you or any of your allies
are already tired/sick when the night before a full moon comes around
they will remain tired/sick.
-5/9: It seems that there is something is amiss at the Monorail. When you get
control run to the monorail. When you get there you’ll climb aboard,
then continue on down the Monorail Cars. Eventually there is a scene
where Junpei runs off and you get attacked by two Spurious Books. Use
fire to get rid of both of them quickly. After the battle you get
attacked by two more Spurious Books and a Heat Balance. Use fire on the
Spurious books and wind on the Heat Balance. After the battle continue
forward until you find Junpei again. You’ll get attacked by a Spurious
Book, a Heat Balance, and a Dancing Hand. Use fire on the Spurious Book
and Dancing Hand while using Wind on the Heat Balance. After the battle
the Monorail will start moving, and you’ve only have eight minutes
before it crashes! Unfortunately you also get attacked by two Dancing
Hand and a Laughing Table. Fortunately they are all weak to fire, so
you should be able to knock them down and All-Out Attack them quickly.
In the next car you’ll have to deal with random shadows. Take care of
them quickly and in the next car you’ll have a boss battle.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Priestess
As long you have at least five minutes remaining when you start this battle
you should be okay. She doesn’t have any weaknesses, so just hit her with
your best non-ice attack. If she summons two Muttering Tiaras, use Bufu to
get rid of them before they can heal Priestess. If you need Healing then use
the Cadenza (Orpheus + Apsaras) combination.

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
After the battle is over the Fool Social Link will improve to Rank 3
and you’ll get the “Conserve SP” Tactic as well.
-5/10: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Giga Power
Band and a Diet Food for 2,980 Yen. You’ll also get a call from
Elizabeth informing you that floors 17-40 of Tartarus are now open.
She doesn’t mention it in her call, but the Persona Compendium will
also become available today. I would advise against trying to climb
the new floors until after Mid-Terms, however, as Akihiko will join
the party at that time and the extra muscle is abig help with the
enemies in this section. You’ll probably want your nights free for
studying, anyways.
-5/11: The Mid-Term Exams are a week away, this means you won’t be able to
improve any Social Links with Gekkoukan High students until Mid-Terms
are over. Social Links that don’t involve students (i.e. Hanged Man,
Hierophant, and Hermit) are unaffected. There is also a lecture today.
-5/15: There’s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “Let me go!” While the
answer in <FES> is “Bread.”
-5/17: The home shopping program is today, they are offering an All-Purpose
Katana and two Diet Foods for 5,980 Yen.
-5/18: Mid-Term Exams start today. The first day’s test depends on your
Academics stat. For best results you need to have rank three in
Academics.
-5/19: Mid-Term Exams continue, the answer in <P3> is “Mangekyo,” while the
answer in <FES> is “Bread,”
-5/20: Mid-Term Exams continue, the answer in <P3> is “Chaos Theory,” while
the answer in <FES> is “Faster than sound.”
-5/21: Mid-Term Exams continue, the answer in <P3> is “Basic,” while the
answer in <FES> is “Hard water.”
-5/22: Mid-Term Exams continue, the answer in <P3> is “How the tools are
made,” while the answer in <FES> is “Nara.”
-5/23: Mid-Term Exams conclude today. How well you do on today’s test depends
on you Academics stat. For best results, you need rank three in
academics. You are finally able to reenter Tartarus tonight, but more
than that, Akihiko joins the party tonight. Yipee skippy!
-5/24: The home shopping program is today, they are offering an All-Purpose
Apron and two Diet Foods for 5,980 Yen.
-5/25: The Mid-Term Exam results are posted today. Depending on how well you
did you’ll get a boost to your Charm Stat. (Getting top marks will
give you a bigger bonus than merely being above average.) There is
also a lecture today.
-5/26: If you got top marks on the Mid-Term Exam you can talk to Mitsuru
after school and she’ll give you a Page Card Set. (Sword of Page, Cup
of Page, Wand of Page, Coin of Page) If you got anything less than top
marks, however, you get nothing.
-5/31: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a pair of Health
Sandals and a Diet Food for 3,980 Yen.
============
=================================|June [004.3]|================================
============
-6/5: If you are curious, the correct answers for Yuka-tan’s Happy Quiz Time
Show are: “There were three victims,” and “They hung out together.” It
doesn’t really matter if you answer correctly, but at least you can
look like you did more than just spend your week eating Ramen and
singing Karaoke.
-6/7: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a bottle of
Perfume and five Medicines for 3,980 Yen.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 6/53
4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
-6/8: You begin Operation Rescue Fuuka in your classroom at Gekkoukan High.
Make your way down to the Faculty Office, and when Yukari asks what key
she’s holding tell her it’s the Gym key.
After some scenes you end up separated from the others on a random
floor of Tartarus. Start climbing upward, fighting or avoiding Shadows,
until on the third floor you reunite with Junpei and Akihiko. After a
bunch of scenes Fuuka will take over the support role from Mitsuru and
you will get thrown into a boss battle.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Empress, Emperor
You may want to equip a bow for the Protagonist, so that every character has
a different physical attack type. (You pierce, Junpei slash, and Akihiko
strike) Also make sure that you are able to use all four elemental types.
At the start of the battle Empress will have a weakness to the three weapon
types while nullifying the four elemental types. Emperor on the other hand
nullifies the three weapon types but has a weakness to the four elemental
types. After taking some damage, however, they will use Paradigm Sift, which
shuffles around their resistances. And when their HP gets very low they will
only be vulnerable to a single type of damage and nullify all others.
Make sure that you have Fuuka reanalyze them every time they use Paradigm
Shift, then keep hitting their weaknesses and you should be able come out on
top here. Although the Orpheus and Apsaras Personae are probably getting a
little long in the tooth by now, their Cadenza combination is still the best
choice for healing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle you will get the super-useful “Knock Down” Tactic.
-6/9: The Shinshoudo Antique store opens today. Also you will be unable to
enter Tartarus for the rest of the week.
-6/13: There’s a lot of things happening today. First and foremost is that
Fuuka joins the team and Mitsuru becomes a selectable character.
Nifty. You’re also finally able to re-enter Tartarus tonight. Remember
that from now on you need to talk to Fuuka instead of Mitsuru if you
want to enter Tartarus. Floors 41-64 of Tartarus are now available to
explore.
-6/14: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Brand Purse
and a bottle of Perfume for 5,980 Yen.
-6/15: There’s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “a colon,” while the
answer in <FES> is “And...”
-6/17: For some reason the quizzes that whacko nurse gives you are exactly
the same in both <P3> and <FES>, so the answer in both games is
“Shamanism.” The Culture Clubs are recruiting today. After School you
can join either the Art, Music, or Photography Clubs (Like with the
Chariot S.Link, it doesn‘t matter which one you join) to establish the
Fortune Social Link.
-6/21: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Land Badge and
ten Sappy Jelly for 24,800 Yen.
-6/22: There’s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “Chinese,” while the
answer in <FES> is “Jellyfish.”
-6/28: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a pair of
Champion Gloves and three Sappy Jelly for 8,980 Yen.
-6/29: There’s a quiz today, the answer In <P3> is “Leonardo da Vinci,” while
the answer in <FES> is “It can go either way.” Just FYI, with one
thing and another this will be the final full week you’ll be able to
improve student Social Links for about two months.
============
=================================|July [004.4]|================================
============
-7/3: There’s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “The 2,000 Yen bill,” while
the answer in <FES> is “The Global Heritage Pavilion.”

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
-7/4: You should take advantage of the Pharmacy’s sale today to stock up on
Dis-Charms and Me Patra Gems for the coming full moon. You want to have
at least ten of both Dis-Charms and Me Patra Gems.
-7/5: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Kevlar Vest and
four Super Diet Food for 14,800 Yen.
-7/7: For tonight’s operation Yukari will be a compulsory member. You are
given the chance to choose the other two party members for tonight. I
usually go with Akihiko and Junpei. When you reach the hotel climb up
to the third floor and enter the Hierophant’s Chamber. Inside you’ll
find the Hierophant, and he is not happy about you entering his
Chamber.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Hierophant
He mostly attacks with electricity attacks, but he can use Prophecy of Ruin
which can make the entire party afraid. Pretty simple battle, really. Just
hit him with your best non-electric attacks and if anyone becomes afraid use
a Me Patra Gem. He can cause problems if he decides to pick on Yukari with
his electricity attacks, but you should be able to take him down eventually.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that was fun, but now let’s head back to the Dorm and... The
door’s locked! Well... Why don’t we do as Fuuka suggests and search the
room for the mystery shadow. Check the mirror and you’ll get zapped.
You wake up in one of the rooms of the hotel. Answer “What was I...”,
“That’s not true!”, “I can’t give in!”, and “Now’s not the time!” to
shake off the Shadow’s influence. (and to prevent the game from getting
an AO rating...)
Hanky panky adverted, climb up to the second floor to reunite with your
other members. Fuuka will now call to tell you that the boss is back in
the Hierophant’s Chamber, but the door is being sealed by the some of
the mirrors in this place. You will have to destroy the mirrors to undo
the seal, but if you destroy the wrong mirror you will get zapped back
to the first floor and you will have to start over again. Also note
that random Shadows have popped up in the hotel. Start by breaking the
mirror in Room 205, then climb up the third floor and break the mirror
in Room 304 to break the seal on the door to the Hierophant’s Chamber,
enter it to fight a new boss.

This is a rather interesting battle. They start the battle as one enemy, but
after a couple of turns they will split into two separate enemies. After a
few more turns they will recombine into a single enemy. While they are
together they will mainly use Kill Rush, but they can also Poison you with
Poison Mist and Panic you with Tentarafoo. When they separate Chariot will
mainly attacks with Kill Rush augmented by Power Charge, while Justice mainly
attacks with Twin Shot and Torrent Shot. Justice can use Hama, so be ready
for that.

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
You’ll want to bring both Yukari and Mitsuru for healing, hopefully one (or
both) of them has learned Diarama by now as it makes this fight a whole lot
easier. The third character is up to you, I usually choose Aigis as she has
both single and multiple-target physical attacks. Their only resistance is to
Light and Darkness, so just use your best attack against them. (if you have a
Persona with Getsu-ei use that, as it’s quite an effective attack during the
full moon)
The one thing about this battle that you have to remember is that you
absolutely must defeat both of them at the same time. If only one of them is
dead then the living Shadow will revive the dead one with Samarecarm,
reviving them and bringing them back up to full HP to add insult to injury.
If you “kill” them while they are combined they will separate with 1 HP each.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle you will get the “Same Target” Tactic.
-8/7: The Death Social Link will improve to Rank Five today.
-8/8: Koromaru joins up today. What is with those wings!? Floors 90-114 of
Tartarus are now available to explore.
-8/9: The home shopping program is today, they are offering an Omega Spear
and five Veggie Supplements for 24,800 Yen. From now on in <FES> you
can take Koromaru out for a walk during certain evenings. Usually this
will just give you an item of some kind, (I‘ve gotten anything from a
Mad Bull to a Traesto Gem) but on certain nights you will either have
the option to go with a SEES member or you meet with a Social Link on
your walk.
-8/10: Summer School!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! From now until the 15th the entire
day is going to be spent in Summer School, and you will get a bonus to
Academics every day.
-8/16: The home shopping program is today, they are offering an Emergency
Vest and five Veggie Supplements for 24,800 Yen. You will be invited
to go to the Summer Festival with one of the girls today. Accepting
the invitation will improve your Social Link with that girl.
-8/17: On certain days from now until the end of the month you will get
invited to see the Film Festival with one of your classmates.
Accepting this invitation will improve your Social Link with that
person as well as improving one of your stats. Note that you won’t
receive an invitation if you haven’t established a Social Link with
that person yet. (Or if that Social Link has gone into a Reverse
state) Also note that the schedules in <P3> and <FES> are different
from each other. The <FES> schedule has been split into two parts.
-8/23: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a pair of Dragon
Boots and four Veggie Supplements for 20,000 Yen. Note that if you go
to the Film Festival today you won’t be able to watch the home
shopping program. If you go on a walk tonight in <FES> then you’ll
meet with the Hierophant S.Link.
-8/24: During this week in <FES> you will be able to invite your fellow SEES
members to see a movie with you. The only real difference is that you
go and talk to them in the Dorm as opposed to having them call you at
the start of the day. If you go to the movies with Junpei, Fuuka, or
Mitsuru you will be able to follow it up with a walk with them in the
evening.
-8/30: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a pair of Varuna
Bracers and two Veggie Supplements for 17,800 Yen.

-9/1: School is back in session, and to celebrate there is a quiz today. The
answer in <P3> is “You slide like crazy,” while the answer in <FES> is
“Superconductivity.” In <FES> you can also go to the Nurse’s Office and
listen to him babble about Tarot readings if you’re into that kind of
thing.
-9/5: Not much to say about this operation, really, just form a party and
enter Club Escapade for a boss battle. You won’t be able to use Junpei
for this battle, and the boss uses a lot of electricity attacks, so
Yukari and Aigis are out. I would choose a party of Mitsuru, Akihiko
and either Ken or Shinjiro.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Hermit
As long as you have Take-Mikazuchi set this battle shouldn’t give you too
many problems. Hermit’s big attack is Giga Spark, a very painful Electrical
attack, but fortunately you have ample warning when he’s about to use it. He
starts by using Charge, then two turns doing NOTHING, then finally releasing
Giga Spark.
While Giga Spark is painful, you are essentially given three free turns to
heal up and Tarunda and/or Marakukaja before he uses it, and if you have
Take-Mikazuchi as your Persona you will nullify this attack completely. One
final note, if your Take-Mikazuchi has been leveled up he will have Getsu-ei,
which is quite effective in this battle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will get the “Attack Fallen” Tactic after the battle.
-9/6: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Brand Watch and
five Snuff Souls for 10,000 Yen. If you go on a walk tonight in <FES>
you’ll meet with the Justice S.Link.
-9/10: There is a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “Come Here,” while the
answer in <FES> is “Gochisou-sama.”
-9/11: There is another quiz today, the answer in both versions is “The
Hermetica.”
-9/12: There is a lecture today in both versions. The Death Social Link will
improve to Rank 6 today.
-9/13: The home shopping program is today, They are offering a set of Prayer

-9/18: TYPHOON! From now until the 20th you’re going to be stuck inside the
Dorm, which means no Tartarus, no S.Links, and no Shopping for you.
There won’t be a home shopping program on the 20th, either.
-9/23: In <FES> there is a Film Festival today. You will be able to invite
Shinjiro with you. Your Courage will increase if you go to the
festival.
-9/26: There is a quiz in <FES> today, the answer is “The Tetractys.” You can
also go on a walk with tonight Shinjiro as well.
-9/27: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Skrep and four
Health Supplements for 35,800 Yen. In <FES> you will also be able to
go on a walk with Akihiko tonight.

===============================|October [004.7]|===============================
===============
-10/3: There’s a lecture today in both versions. Oh, and by the way,
tonight’s the last time you will be able to use Shinjiro, ever.
-10/4: Tonight’s operation is more or less like the last one, where you
simply form a party and fight the boss. You won’t have Ken or Shinjiro
for this fight. One of the upcoming bosses does use Wind skills, but
they do it infrequently enough so that Junpei won’t be too much of a
liability in this battle. Other than that just use your best
characters and you should do alright.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Fortune, Strength
At the start of the battle Strength will encase Fortune in a force field,
preventing you from attacking (or even targeting) it. The only way to get rid
of the force field is to kill Strength.
On every turn Fortune will use Wheel of Fortune, which summons a giant
spinner. There are three different spinners: one will inflict the Panic,
Distressed, Enraged, or Afraid ailments; One which casts Matarukaja,
Matarunda, Marakukaja, or Marakunda; and one which will either heal for 50 HP
or damage for 50, 100, or 200 HP. Which side these spinners effects depend on
the color it lands on, if it land on a blue section the result will be
favorable to you, While if it lands on red the result will be bad.
Being able to control which side comes off worse on the Wheel of Fortune is
the key to this battle. What you want to do is be looking not at the pointer,
but rather at a spot directly opposite of the pointer, as that is where the
spinner will end up when it’s stopped. What I do is from your point of view
use where Fortune intersects the far edge of the spinner as a reference
point, then move this spot over a few tics to the left. This is the spot
where the pointer is going to land when you press the X button.
When you kill off Strength the force field will drop and you will finally be
able to attack Fortune. He also stops using Wheel of Fortune on every turn
and will throw out the occasional Torrent Shot or (Ma)Garudyne. When he does
use Wheel of Fortune, however, the spinner will be made up entirely of damage
sections. What’s more, there will be a lot more Red areas than Blue this time.
Hopefully you’ve gotten the technique of stopping the spinner where you want
down, because you will be tested here. As long as you can keep everyone’s
HP above 200 just in case you screw up on Wheel of Fortune you should do
okay.
PS - If you manage to inflict the Fear ailment on Strength you can kill her
in one shot with Ghastly Wail.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-10/5: Life goes on, and since there are Mid-Term Exams coming up in a week
so you won’t be able to improve student S.Links until they are over.
Akihiko’s Persona will evolve to Caesar today. If you go into
Shinjiro’s room and look in the box on his desk you will be able to
retrieve any equipment you might have given him.
-10/6: Ken’s Persona will evolve to Kala-Nemi today. The Death Social Link
will improve to Rank 8 today.
-10/7: There‘s a quiz today, the answer in <P3> is “To bring in business,”

Takaya, Jin
-(Takaya) Repel: Light, Null: Dark, (Jin) Repel: Fire/Dark, Null: Light
-Recommended Level: 53
For this battle you want a Persona that protects against Darkness as Jin can
and will use Mudo and Mudoon. Mot is an excellent choice here as he repels
Darkness and doesn‘t have any elemental weaknesses for Takaya to exploit.
Takaya mainly uses single target -Dyne level elemental attacks, but he can
Also hit you with a Mind-Charged Megido so don’t slack off on the healing.
There isn’t anything real special about this fight, take out Jin first with
your best non-fire attack (like Getsu-ei) then finish off Takaya with

whatever.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Strega is defeated you are given a chance to re-form your party
before the Shadow attacks. You will definitely want Yukari with you
for this fight, and bringing Junpei isn’t a bad idea either.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Hanged Man
-Null: Light/Dark
-Recommended Level: 53
For this battle a Persona with Magarula is highly recommended as Wind is the
only element in this battle that none of the enemies here nullify. Titania is
a good choice as she has Mediarama and learns Magarula. (in <P3> she comes
with it naturally, but in <FES> you have to level her up first) If you are
playing <FES> and have maxed the Chariot S.Link maxed then Thor is far and
away the best Persona for this battle. He comes with Vicious Strike, while it
does have a rather hefty HP cost it can take out all three statues in one hit
and seriously damage those Devious Mayas as well. Not only that but he also
nullifies Strike attacks which will protect you from Hanged Man’s Akasha Arts
and God’s Hand attacks. (While he’s still a good choice in <P3> he’s not
quite as all-powerful as he is in <FES> mainly because he learns Gigantic
Fist instead of Vicious Strike, which is only a single target attack and
doesn’t do as much damage as Vicious Strike. His immunity to Strike attacks
is still handy to have around though.)
At the start of the battle Hanged Man will be hovering above the Battle and
you won’t be able to target him. To bring him down you have to destroy the
three statues that are under him. The left Statue nullifies Fire and uses
Agilao. The middle Statue nullifies Ice and uses Bufula. The right Statue
nullifies Electricity and uses Zionga. They don’t have a lot of HP, so
Magarula should take them out quickly.
When all three Statues are destroyed Hanged Man will fall. (Note that he‘s
counted as Down after he falls, so you can hit him with an All-Out Attack if
there aren‘t any Devious Mayas around.) When he is on the ground you will
finally be able to target him. He uses some pretty nasty Strike attacks like
Akasha Arts and God’s Hand, so be ready with Mediarama. He can also summon
Devious Mayas, (by the way, the Official Strategy Guide is mistaken here in
that the Devious Mayas do NOT have a weakness to Electricity. They do still
nullify Ice, though.) and when he summons three of them he will use
Armed & Ready, which on their next turn will cause the Devious Mayas to
use Last Resort, killing themselves. (and you too, most likely)
Getting rid of those Devious Mayas as soon as Hanged Man summons them should
be you top priority. A Mind-Charged Magarula will likely be your best friend
in accomplishing this.
Eventually Hanged Man will resummon those three statues and return to
hovering above the battle. You are going to have to destroy those statues
again to continue the assault on Hanged Man.
This will be a lengthy battle, but as long as you can quickly get rid of
those Statues/Devious Mayas you should be able to outlast him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-11/4: The Death Social Link will improve to Rank 10 today. The Fool Social
Link will improve to rank 7 today as well.
-11/6: Floors 165-214 of Tartarus are now available to explore. Oh, and
Mitsuru will be unavailable from now until the 14th. In <FES> talk to

-11/15: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Sid’s Jacket
and eight Mega Proteins for 128,000 Yen.
-11/19: Thanks to Junpei’s hare-brained scheme you are now trapped deep
behind enemy lines and if you get discovered you will be EXECUTED!
You won’t be able to escape because the entrance is being covered, so
you are going to have to hide until they leave. They start by
circling counter-clockwise around the big rock you’re standing next
to, so move to the right side of the rock. After a while they will
start looking in the other direction, so move to the left side of the
rock. Eventually they will decide to split up and when they do go
into the little recess in the rock with the waterfall. There you will
be given the option to hide in there. Do so and you will be able to
wait there until they give up and leave. (Personally I think it’s
more amusing to get yourself executed, you should try it at least
once.)
-11/20: Well, that was fun but it’s back to the grind... Starting tomorrow.
In <FES> you can go on a walk with Ken tonight.
-11/22: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Shoes of Bane
and five Mega Proteins for 79,800 Yen. In <FES> be sure to talk to
Junpei today and tell him “If you help her.” It would seem that
something is happening at Tartarus, so form a party and head out.
Junpei will be unavailable for the upcoming battle. My only
recommendation is having Koromaru for his resistances, Yukari for
healing and having your best attacker for... attacking.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Chidori
For this battle you will want a Persona with Fire protection, as Agi skills
are her most common attack. She can use Mamudoon, so a persona with Darkness
protection is also recommended. Arahabaki is a good choice as it Nullifies
Fire and is resistant to Darkness, but to get Arahabaki you’ll have to have
maxed the Hermit Social Link first. If you can’t/won’t use Arahabaki then the
next best Persona to use is Incubus, which nullifies both Fire and Darkness.
(even though it is about 20 levels behind Arahabaki...)
There’s not much to say about this battle, she mostly uses Agilao but she can
do Mind Charge then Maragidyne. She doesn’t have a lot of HP but she does
have a skill called Spring of Life, which regenerates around 90 of her HP
every turn. Just hit her with your best non-fire attacks and she shouldn’t
cause too many problems.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-11/24: From today until the 27th the entire day will be spent on Career Day.
-11/29: The home shopping program is today, they are offering a Sigma Drive

Social Link will be established as well.
If you do kill him you will get an alternate ending. After it is over
you will be able to make a clear game save to start a new cycle. (see
the section at the end of the calendar for more information)

The final area, Floors 255-263 will open up tonight. Climb up to the
258th Floor, where you will run into an old friend.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Jin
This battle is interesting in that Jin can throw everything including the
kitchen sink at you. Ailments, physical attacks, mid-level multi-target
elemental skills, (mid-level... huh?) -Dyne level single target spells, Hama,
and Mudo skills are all available to him.
I've noticed that for some reason if you bring Mitsuru along he does nothing
but use Maragion and Agidyne over and over. So if you bring a party of
Junpei, Koromaru, and Mitsuru and set a fire-immune persona yourself all you
have to is concentrate on keeping Mitsuru alive while letting Junpei and
Koromaru beat down Jin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Jin is gone continue to climb up Tartarus and on floor 262 you
will run into another old friend.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Takaya
For all his talk about being stronger he's almost exactly like he was when
you fought him back in November. In fact, the only change I noticed was that

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
he has a bit more HP and he uses Megidola instead of Megido after a Mind
Charge. Just use a Persona that doesn't have any elemental weakness and beat
him down with your best attacks and he shouldn't give you any problems. You
could even cast Makarakarn every turn then watch as Takaya kills himself with
his own reflected magic.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Takaya is dealt with there’s nothing to stop you from reaching
the roof of Tartarus and the final boss of Persona 3.
--------------------------------------Boss-------------------------------------
Nyx Avatar
-Recommended Level: 75
Well, this is it, the final boss, and she has no less than fourteen (!)
different forms standing between you and the ending. Although each form
doesn't have a lot of HP, they do add up, making this one of the lengthiest
battles in the game. Don't be surprised if you have to burn a Precious Egg or
a Soma or two as you make your way through her various forms. One thing I
should mention here is that all of Nyx Avatar’s forms will get two turns in
a row.
At a bare minimum I would recommend having the Horus and Rafael Personae for
this battle. Both Personae will learn Mediarahan and have no elemental
weaknesses. A leveled up Horus is immune to both Light and Darkness, and
Rafael comes with Null Charm, which can save you from a lot of headaches. If
you happen to have a Tome of the Void (Heart Item from Abbadon) you can just
equip that and not worry about Null Charm or Null Rage. Having a Persona that
knows Amrita is also recommended.
-Arcana: Fool
-Null: Light/Dark
This form, the only Fool Arcana enemy in the whole game, does absolutely
nothing. Don’t waste SP by setting everybody’s Tactics to Conserve SP and
beat on her with Physical attacks until she switches forms.
-Arcana: Magician
-Drain: Fire, Null: Light/Dark
This form will use all types of fire attacks from Agi to Maragidyne and can
erase fire protection with Fire Break.
-Arcana: Priestess
-Drain: Ice, Null: Light/Dark
This form will use all types of ice attacks from Bufu to Mabufudyne and can
erase ice protection with Ice Break.
-Arcana: Empress
-Drain: Wind, Null: Light/Dark
This form will use all types of wind attacks from Garu to Magarudyne and can
erase wind protection with Wind Break.
-Arcana: Emperor
-Drain: Elec, Null: Light/Dark
This form will use all types of electric attacks from Zio to Maziodyne and
can erase electricity protection with Elec Break.
-Arcana: Hierophant
-Repel: Light/Dark, Null: Strike
She starts out this form by using Rebellion to increase everyone’s critical
hit rate and blasting you with physical attacks like Vile Assault and Fatal
End.
-Arcana: Lovers
-Null: Wind/Light/Dark
Make sure you have Rafael set because she will try to charm you with Marin
Karin and Holy Arrow. She can also Panic you, but it’s nothing a Me Patra Gem
can’t fix.
-Arcana: Chariot
-Null: Slash/Strike/Pierce/Light/Dark
This form uses God’s Hand and Heat Wave that have been augmented with Power
Charge. She nullifies all physical attacks, but she also takes more damage
than usual from elemental magic.
-Arcana: Justice
-Null: Fire/Ice/Light/Dark
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 18/53
4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
This form mostly uses Hamaon and Mahama against you.
-Arcana: Hermit
-Null: Wind/Light/Dark
She will use Mudoon and Mamudoon here, but she can also set up a Tetrakarn or
Makarakarn barrier here as well.
-Arcana: Fortune
-Null: Fire/Ice/Elec/Wind/Light/Dark
This form uses all types of elemental magic against you. She also nullifies
all element types, so use physical attacks here.
-Arcana: Strength
-Null: Slash/Strike/Pierce/Light/Dark
The last form was a magic user and now we get a physical attacker. She uses
Deathbound and Tempest Slash that have been augmented with Power Charge and
Rakunda.
Almost there. She uses Mind Charge and Megidola, so be sure to keep your HP
up at all times. This form can use Mudoon, so be ready for it.
-Arcana: Death
-Null: Light/Dark, Strong: all except Almighty
Okay, now she's serious. Not only does this form have four times as much HP
as the previous forms, but she also takes less damage from whatever you throw
at it as well.
This form mainly attacks with elemental magic, and can use break skills to
erase any immunities you might have. She can also use a skill called Moonless
Gown which repels all attacks including Almighty and doesn‘t break after a
single hit like Tetrakarn/Makarakarn does. If she sets up Moonless Gown your
only choice is to set everyone’s Tactics to Stand By and wait until she lifts
it. When her HP get low she starts using Night Queen, which is a lot like the
Celestial Ray skill in DDS because it does a lot of Almighty and has a chance
to inflict a random ailment.
As long as the Protagonist can keep from being Charmed/Enraged you should be
able to handle Night Queen. If you have Raphael set and a Ring of Serenity
equipped you will be able to avoid getting charmed/enraged, then you can
concentrate on healing and curing Ailments while your party members finish
off Nyx.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the Death form of Nyx Avatar is beaten you get to the final
final Boss of the game. This battle is simple, just wait until your HP
fills back up then use Great Seal to end the battle.
After all that it's time for the Epilogue. You can go around town if
you wish, or just head back to the Dorm and go to bed. In <FES> you
can also see epilogues of every Social Link that you maxed in the
game. Do the same the following day and the ending will finally kick
in.
-----------------------------------New Cycle-----------------------------------
Just like in previous MegaTen games, after the ending has finished you will
be able to make a New Cycle Save. When you load up this New Cycle save you
will start the game over again with a few benefits that carry over from your
previous game.
-The Protagonist's stats, levels and equipment will carry over into the New
Cycle.
-Your Personae don't carry over, but your Persona Compendium will. (when it
becomes available on May 10th)
-Any restricted Personae that you have unlocked (Either through Elizabeth‘s
Requests or through Maxed Social Links) will remain unlocked throughout any
subsequent play throughs.
-For some reason your allies’ Levels and Equipment do NOT carry over.
Unfortunately this means that whatever equipment your allies had at the
end of the game are gone forever, so be aware of that.
-Your Money and equipment inventory will carry over, but your usable items do
not.
-During the April 9th events Yukari won't give the Protagonist a Short
Sword and he will just use whatever weapon he had during the final battle.

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
(another little bit of useless trivia is that is that on your first time
through the game the Protagonist isn't wearing a SEES Armband during the
Cowardly Maya battle, while on subsequent play throughs he is)
-Your Social Links do reset unfortunately. However, If you maxed out a Social
Link on a previous play through then you will still be able to fuse the
ultimate persona of that Arcana. You just won’t get the experience bonus
from having a Rank 10 S.Link.
-If you had unlocked Monad Block in the previous game (meaning you didn’t
chicken out on New Years Eve and get the alternate ending) it will be
available from the start of the game.

will instead concentrate on the Guardians you encounter as you climb the
tower.

____________________________________Floor 5____________________________________
Venus Eagle x 3
-Arcana: Empress
-Drain: Fire, Null: Wind/Light/Dark, Weak: Pierce
-Recommended Level: 4
As long as you’ve found/bought a bow before the battle and had the
Protagonist equip it before the battle this should be easy. Since they are
weak to pierce knock them down with your bow then do an All-Out Attack. The
only problem you might have is if they decide to pick on Junpei with their
Garu skills, but the battle should be short enough so this shouldn’t become
an issue.
____________________________________Floor 10___________________________________
Dancing Hand x 3
-Arcana: Magician
-Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Elements, Weak: Strike
-Recommended Level: 5
Hopefully you’ve found an Apsaras In your travels so far so you can use the
Cadenza combination (Orpheus + Apsaras) as it will be invaluable in this
fight. These guys can be a problem, as they can use every type of element
against you, and their magic hurts. If all three use Magaru on the same turn
you will probably die. (and Junpei will definitely die)
This is the first battle where you really need to control your enemies’
actions by keeping them down on the ground. Start by using Orpheus’ Bash to
knock them down but do NOT initiate an All-Out Attack, instead relent and use
the extra turn to heal or do another attack. This way at least two of the
Hands should be wasting their turns getting up. If anyone gets in trouble
then use Cadenza to heal.
____________________________________Floor 14___________________________________
Rampage Drive
-Arcana: Chariot
-Repel: Strike, Null: Slash/Pierce/Light/Dark, Strong: Fire
-Recommended Level: 6
This can be a really difficult battle, as not only is it immune to all types
of physical attacks, but it also doesn’t have any weaknesses for you to
exploit either. Add to that the fact that its Assault Dive can kill you in
one hit and this will be your biggest challenge yet.
As for Persona you will want an Ara Mitama, (you can acquire one by fusing
Pixie and Angel) as it will help protect you from its Assault Dive.
Unfortunately Ara Mitama’s offensive capacity leaves much to be desired in
this battle, (The only offensive skills it learns naturally are Bash, which
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 20/53

it repels, and Agi, which it is resistant to) so might want to risk switching
to Apsaras or something with elemental magic that Rampage Drive is not
resistant to.
This battle is really just a slugfest, Use the Cadenza combination for
healing, Set Yukari’s Tactics to Heal/Support if you need it, hit it with
your best magic and hope it doesn’t one-hit kill you.
One last thing, I hope you’ve got some Revival Beads handy, as you will need
them.

____________________________________Floor 25___________________________________
Crying Table x 3
-Arcana: Magician
-Drain: Fire, Null: Strike/Light/Dark, Weak: Ice, Strong: Slash/Pierce
-Recommended Level: 10
For this fight I would recommend whipping up a Yomotsu Shikome by fusing that
Ara Mitama you used in the Rampage Drive fight with another Angel. Other than
that there isn’t much to say about this fight, use Yomotsu Shikome to Bufu
them down and All-Out Attack or heal as necessary, and they shouldn’t give
you too many problems.
____________________________________Floor 36___________________________________
Change Relic
-Arcana: Empress
-Null: Wind/Light/Dark
-Recommended Level: 12
Before this battle level up an Apsaras until she learns Posmudi, then fuse
her with a Nekomata. In <P3> the result is an Omoikane with Posmudi. In <P3>
Omoikane has a resistance to Wind and having Posmudi is invaluable for this
fight. It doesn’t quite work out that way in <FES>, since the fusion tables
have been switched around and instead of an Omoikane you get an Alp. This
actually works out quite well for you, since Alp has a resistance to wind
while in <FES> Omoikane does not. It is VERY difficult to keep Junpei alive
through this fight. In fact it might be a better idea to just leave him back
at the lobby and fight this battle a man down.
____________________________________Floor 47___________________________________
Golden Beetle x 3
-Arcana: Emperor
-Null: Ice/Light/Dark, Weak: Elec, Strong: Slash/Strike/Pierce
-Recommended Level: 16
These guys will always get the first turn in this battle, which they will use
to cast Tarukaja on themselves. (And they will recast it when it wears off)
This makes all of their attacks pretty painful, and if they use Kill Rush
they can kill you in one hit.
Make sure you have Akihiko and that his tactics are set to Knock Down. Hit
them with electricity (Which, oddly enough, does only single digit damage,
much less than elements that they are not “weak” to) to knock them down and
All-Out Attack them. If you are feeling paranoid you may want to set a
Persona that protects against Strike (Kill Rush) and have them waste their
turns getting up.
____________________________________Floor 59___________________________________
Intrepid Knight
-Arcana: Emperor
-Drain: Wind, Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Slash/Strike/Pierce
-Recommended Level: 18
A good Persona for this battle is Fortuna, as she’s resistant to Wind. You
can make one by fusing a Yomotsu Shikome with a Valkyrie.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 21/53
4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
For the most part he will use Garudyne and Magarula that have been boosted
with Mind Charge. He will occasionally use Kill Rush as well. He can also use
Hama, so have some Revival Beads handy in case he gets lucky.
Other than that, just chip away with elemental magic while keeping your HP up
and you should come out on top. If you happen to have mid-level elemental
magic use that to speed up the process.

____________________________________Floor 72___________________________________
Furious Gigas x 3
-Arcana: Strength
-Repel: Strike, Null: Fire/Light/Dark, Weak: Wind, Strong: Elec
-Recommended Level: 24
You want to have Yukari in the party and have her Tactics set to Knock Down.
The strategy for this fight is to simply knock them down with wind attacks
and either All-Out Attack or have them waste their turn getting up. They can
kill you in one hit with their Gigantic Fist attack, so watch out for that.
____________________________________Floor 85___________________________________
Fanatic Tower
-Arcana: Hierophant
-Repel: Fire/Ice/Elec, Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Slash/Pierce
-Recommended Level: 26
As you can see, the only way to really damage this guy is with Strike or Wind
attacks. He uses a lot of Electric attacks, so Yukari will likely more of a
hindrance than a help in this battle. I would suggest having both Junpei and
Akihiko in your party, as they can both use Strike attacks, (and Akihiko
resists Electric attacks to boot) then bringing along Mitsuru in for healing.
I would suggest Kusi Mitama as your Persona, as it knows wind attacks and is
resistant to electricity.
Like I said, it mainly attacks with Zionga and Mazionga, but it can also
poison you with Poison Mist. Be ready to use a Dis-Poison if anyone gets
poisoned or hit it with Garula if no one needs healing. Set Mitsuru’s Tactics
to Heal/Support and try to get Akihiko to cast Tarunda on it to make your
life easier.
____________________________________Floor 98___________________________________
Magical Magus x 3
-Arcana: Magician
-Drain: Ice, Null: Light/Dark, Weak: Fire, Strong: Slash/Strike/Pierce
-Recommended Level: 30
For this battle you want a Persona that has fire attacks but not a weakness
to ice. They can use Ice Break, which erases a Persona’s immunity to ice, so
don’t worry too much about setting a Persona that is immune to Ice. I would
recommend Lamia, As she starts with Agilao and is resistant to Ice. You can
make one by fusing Oberon and Take-Minakata. Since both Junpei and Koromaru
have fire attacks they should also be included in this battle and have their
Tactics set to Knock Down.
They can use Mind Charge which will make their Mabufula attacks very painful,
but since you should have three characters who can exploit their weaknesses
this battle shouldn’t cause you too many problems.
___________________________________Floor 110___________________________________
Natural Dancer
-Arcana: Lovers
-Null: Wind/Light/Dark, Strong: Fire/Elec
-Recommended Level: 33
You know, I can’t help thinking that Atlus intentionally designed this boss
to make you want to pitch your controller across the room.
First off, the only way to damage them is with physical attacks or ice.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 22/53
4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
Unfortunately they can also use Tetrakarn, which will repel physical attacks,
(and unlike the shield skills in DDS it will stay up until they are broken)
so you are pretty much forced to use ice against them. (unless you are
willing to attack and break the shield and eat a reflected attack) They also
love to pound you with both Garudyne and Magarudyne. But the real aggravation
comes from when they use Sexy Dance, which can charm the entire party.
There’s nothing worse than having your entire party charmed and having to sit
helplessly while they heal up Natural Dancer and kill their own party
members. (actually, having only The Protagonist get charmed while the other
members do nothing to help while you go on a rampage is probably worse...)
That being said there is actually a simple solution to this battle: fight it
solo. Since it only attacks with Garu skills, if you set a Wind-nullifying
Persona like Kusi Mitama or Clotho they won’t be able to damage you. Plus,
since Kusi Mitama has no healing skills, nor are there any allies for you to
attack, if you if get charmed then The Protagonist will just stand there and
do nothing until it wears off. (and if you happen to have a Narcissist’s
Flower (Heart Item from Narcissist) equipped you don’t even have to worry
about being charmed) The only problem is when it uses Tetrakarn, your only
option is to break it by attacking and eating the damage from the reflected
attack, so make sure you keep your HP above 100 just in case.
I’ve received a couple of emails stating that they actually can attack with a
normal physical attack, they just do it very VERY infrequently. As long as
your HP doesn’t drop below 100 you shouldn’t have too many problems.
Unfortunately, it looks like they can also use Hamaon as well. They very
rarely use it (I personally have never seen them use it, although I’ve
received reports from others where they practically spam it on them) but when
they do it can definitely mess things up. Unfortunately there isn’t much you
can do about it when they do use it, as the only Persona that nullifies Wind
and has protection from Light is Nandi and that’s a level 39 Persona.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend going crazy grinding to get a Persona that
only marginally protects you from an attack that they only rarely use
anyways. If it bothers you just buy a Homunculus or two from the Antique Shop
before the battle and that should cover you.

Arcane Turret x 3

Bring along Mitsuru and have her Tactics set to Knock Down. The other two
characters don’t really matter so just bring whoever. Just knock them down
with ice and All-Out Attack them or heal and have them waste their turn
getting up.
___________________________________Floor 135___________________________________
Sleeping Table
-Arcana: Magician
-Null: Strike/Light/Dark, Strong: Slash/Pierce/Fire
-Recommended Level: 44
In many ways I think this is one of the most difficult battles in the game.
The problem with this battle is that it just causes way too much damage. Its
Maragidyne can easily chop off 250 HP of damage, and if it uses Megidola it
can take off another 300. Add to that it can use Hamaon and this makes for
one daunting opponent.
Since both Junpei and Koromaru have some form of protection from Fire they
are good choices for this battle. (Even though Koromaru is kibble if he gets
hit with Hamaon) Unfortunately their attacks won’t be that effective here, so
I would only take one of them to this battle. Mitsuru has a weakness to fire
which is a very bad thing here, so leave her at home. Akihiko knows Tarunda,
which is helpful... When he decides to use it.

You’ll probably be spending most of this battle casting Mediarama, and even
with that and Yukari’s Tactics set to Heal/Support it might not be enough to
keep up with it. Don’t be afraid to use a Magic Mirror to take some of the
heat off. (so to speak) a Magic Mirror will protect you from Maragidyne and
Hamaon, but it won’t stop a Megidola.
___________________________________Floor 146___________________________________
Hell Knight x 3
-Arcana: Emperor
-Drain: Elec, Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Fire/Ice/Wind
-Recommended Level: 48
Make sure you acquire Koumokuten for this fight because of his resistance to
both Strike and Electricity, which just so happens to be what this boss uses.
I would also recommend having Kikuri-Hime in reserve for this fight because
she knows Mediarama. (Don’t use Saki Mitama as it is weak to their Heat Wave
attack)
Physical attacks are the way to go in this battle. You want to bring your two
best physical attackers along with Mitsuru for healing. Note they can and do
use Elec Break, so Akihiko won’t have as big an advantage in this battle as
he normally would. (Still, they will waste a turn on casting it, so I guess
it still is helpful) The only characters I would recommend against are Yukari
and Aigis because of their weakness to Electricity.
With all three knights attacking it can be hard to keep up with them, So
reducing their numbers should be your first priority. Set Mitsuru’s Tactics
to Heal/Support and the other two to Assign Target and have them concentrate
on a single enemy. If you can survive until one of them is dead this battle
becomes a whole lot easier. Watch out if one of them uses Mind Charge, as on
the next turn they will use Maziodyne, so make sure everyone is fully healed.
___________________________________Floor 160___________________________________
Mythical Gigas
-Arcana: Strength
-Repel: Strike, Drain: Fire, Null: Pierce/Light/Dark, Strong: Slash
-Recommended Level: 50
First there was a boss that needed physical attacks, and now one that
requires magic to beat.
I would suggest you use Dionysus as your Persona, as his resistance to Slash
attacks will help to keep you alive and his Magic Charge and (if you level
him up) Ziodyne will be quite powerful here. You’ll want to bring your best
magic users here, which is likely Yukari, Mitsuru, and Akihiko. Unfortunately
these guys can have a difficult time surviving the Mythical Gigas’ assault,
(particularly Yukari) so you might want to consider subbing in Ken for
someone here.
This guy is a pretty brutal physical attacker. He uses Deathbound and Vile
Assault that have been augmented with Power Charge and Marakunda. If you have
any Dekunda Gems, now’s the time to use them! Also consider using an Attack
Mirror after he use Power Charge, because if he uses Deathbound the next turn
it will bounce back at him, hitting him four times at around 90 HP a hit.
Other than that make sure you have a dedicated healer while you pound him
with your best non-fire magic attacks and you should be able to outlast him.

Judgment Sword x 3
-Arcana: Justice
-Drain: Elec, Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Slash/Strike/Pierce/Fire
-Recommended Level: 55
Ice attacks are the best way to fight these guys, as Ice causes more damage
to them than any other type. For this reason bringing along Mitsuru is highly
recommended. Yukari is the only other character that can really damage them,
but unfortunately they like to use electricity so it can be risky using her.
Everyone else is going to have a hard time damaging these guys so just bring
whoever.
A Persona with Bufudyne and protection from electricity would be ideal for
this fight. Unfortunately, no such Persona exists, so you’re either going to
have to try to fuse one or just use Loki or Laksmi which will learn Bufudyne
and doesn’t have a weakness to electricity. There’s not much more to say
about this fight, as it’s a pretty standard boss fight. Use the Assign Target
Tactic to thin their numbers while keeping yourself healed up.

-Arcana: Justice

This can be a brutal fight, as they can throw some pretty painful attacks
like Mighty Swing, Fatal End, Deathbound, and Tempest Slash at you. Not only
that, but they can also use Power Charge to increase the pain.
In <P3> if you set Narashima, Kali, or Chernobog as your Persona the only way
they can hurt you is with Double Fangs, which they do infrequently and is
nowhere near as powerful as their other attacks. Unfortunately the only one
of these Persona that has any way of damaging the enemy is Chernobog, which
learns Megidola if you level him up, as the others can only learn Slash
attacks. Unfortunately you probably won’t have enough SP for more than a few
casting of Megidola. Still, you could give the Protagonist a spear, turn Rush
on... And then wait a half-hour until he finishes poking them to death with
his pointed stick.

-Arcana: Hermit

This guy throws a lot of Hama skills at you, so having a Persona that
nullifies Light is essential for this fight. Ken is a good person to bring
along as he nullifies Light, and even if he can’t cause a lot of damage he
still makes for a good healer. I would suggest Mitsuru and Junpei as your
other two characters, but as long as you don’t bring Koromaru it doesn’t
really matter who you bring.

The thing that makes this battle so annoying is that they spend almost the
entire time trying to poison, panic, and charm your party. This is quite
annoying (especially given the unreliability of your allies’ A.I. in curing
ailments) and potentially lethal if the Protagonist gets charmed. They do
use Primal Force, but they do it rather infrequently.
Keeping the protagonist from getting charmed is vital for this battle. To do
this you can either set Raphael as your Persona or equip Narcissist’s
Flowers. As long as you can keep the Protagonist from getting charmed and
your supply of ailment-curing items holds out this battle should more of an
annoyance than a problem.

Okay, now I KNOW Atlus intentionally designed this boss to make you want to
pitch your controller across the room.
As you can see, the only way to harm it is with physical attacks. So what
does it do? It casts Tetrakarn to make itself invulnerable to everything
except Almighty! Not only that, but it then spends EVERY FREAKING TURN
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps2/932312-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3/faqs/50034 25/53

casting either Megidola or Megidolaon! So while you can’t even touch it, it
will gladly annihilate your party without you being to do a damn thing about
it!
*Gasp*... *Pant*... I’m alright... I’m okay... Anyway, for this battle you
need a Persona that can nullify the type of damage of the Protagonist’s
weapon (i.e. if your Protagonist uses Swords then have Kali or Chernobog) and
a Persona with Mediarama. (or Mediarahan if you can manage it) Yukari is a
good choice, because in this battle she’s more likely than not to use
Mediarama. Round out your party with your two best physical attackers.
For this battle it pretty much going to be you and Yukari using Mediarama
every turn and relying on the other two party members to kill it. If it sets
up a Tetrakarn barrier then switch to Kali/Chernobog to break the shield.
A couple of people have reported that if you have Yukari, Mitsuru, and
Koromaru (in <P3> that is, in <FES> it’s Junpei that learns Fire Break) at
a high enough level so they know Elemental Break skills (Yukari learns Wind
Break and Koromaru/Junpei learns Fire Break at level 60, While Mitsuru
learns Ice Break at Level 61) they will use them to erase Reckoning Dice’s
protection to that element. If they do this be sure to take the opportunity
to pound it with -Dyne level Elemental spells. (you could also cast Break
skills yourself if you have the chance, but most of your turns will probably
be spent healing)

Noble Seeker x 3
-Arcana: Hermit
-Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Fire/Ice/Elec/Wind
-Recommended Level: 67
For this battle you want a Persona that doesn’t have any elemental
weaknesses. If you’ve maxed out the Strength Social Link you can use
Siegfried, as he doesn’t have any elemental weaknesses along with some
pretty wicked physical attacks which makes him the best Persona for this
battle. If you can’t use Siegfried then any Persona that doesn’t have any
elemental weaknesses like Gabriel or Daisoujou will do.
In keeping with the “no elemental weaknesses” theme for this battle you want
to have both Ken and Koromaru in your party. Every other character has some
form of weakness to elemental magic, but it can’t be helped.
They mostly attack with single target -Dyne level elemental spells, although
they will use the multi-target variations of these spells occasionally. If
they manage to hit someone’s weakness they will follow it up with a Vorpal
Blade. Since there should be three party members without any elemental
weaknesses nor do they specifically target these weaknesses this shouldn’t be
too much of a factor as you beat them down with physical attacks.

You want a Persona that nullifies Darkness for this battle, and a resistance
(not Null/Repel/Drain) to Fire couldn’t hurt either. Succubus is probably the
best choice for this battle.
They will immediately use Fire Break to erase the protection of anyone who
Nullifies/Repels/Drains Fire, and they will recast it when it wears off. This
won’t effect a resistance to Fire. They mostly bombard you with Agidyne and
Maragidyne, but they also like to hit you with Mudoon. Watch out though,
because they do use Tetrakarn, and can use super-powered versions of Life
Drain (which instead of sucking up a measly 35 HP siphons off around 200 HP)
and Spirit Drain. (which takes off about 150 SP)

4/21/2018 Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FAQ/Walkthrough for PlayStation 2 by JaggedJim - GameFAQs
For this battle a Persona that protects against both Light and Darkness and
has no elemental weaknesses is required. If your Sun Social Link is maxed out
and you make a Horus it will learn Repel Dark and naturally nullifies Light.
It also has no elemental weaknesses, which makes it my only suggestion for
this battle.
This battle starts out alright, only using single or multi-target -Dyne level
elemental spells. When you knock off about half of it’s HP however it starts
getting nasty. It uses either Mahamaon or Mamudoon every turn or it will
sometimes throw in a Megidola or a Megidolaon. When it only has a fraction of
HP left it will actually start targeting your character’s elemental
weaknesses with elemental spells, and then follow up with Megidolaon for a
lethal one-two punch. If nobody (alive) has any elemental weaknesses, then it
will merely content itself with casting Megidolaon.
As you can see, trying to keep your party alive through this fight is
incredibly difficult, as even if they make it through all those Mahamaons and
Mamudoons unharmed they will still have to deal with that elemental
spell/Megidolaon combo. Ken and Koromaru have the best chance of making it
through to the end, and they don’t have any elemental weaknesses to exploit
either. Try to keep your allies alive as best you can because their help is
invaluable in that last little push to get rid of it before it slaughters you
with Megidolaons.
Mullet2000 has informed me that if you use a Magic Mirror or cast Makarakarn
then World Balance will do nothing except casting Megidolaon over and over.
This is actually beneficial during the second half of the battle as you don’t
have to worry about half your party getting killed with Mahamaon/Mamudoon or
that elemental spell/Megidolaon combo. With Mediarahan along with Marakukaja
and/or Tarunda you should be able to keep ahead of it while your allies kill
it with elemental attacks.

Fierce Cyclops x 3
Considering what a pain the previous couple of guardians were this is almost
a restful battle. They don’t use Megidolaon or Mamudoon, just physical
attacks like Power Charged Primal Force and Vorpal Blade with the occasional
Mazionga for spice. They can use Last Resort when their HP gets low, but
that’s about the only thing special about them.
The only way to damage these guys are with Piercing, Ice, or Wind attacks,
everything else just causes too little damage to be effective. Give the
Protagonist a spear and either the Chernobog (which nullifies their Vorpal
Blade) or Seiten Taisei (which nullifies their Primal Force, and he learns
the Spear Master skill as well) Personae. Using Mitsuru and Ken here is
highly recommended, although bringing in Yukari or Aigis is a little risky
because of their tendency to use Mazionga.
As long as you have a dedicated healer you should be able to survive what
they can throw at you. If one or more them uses Power Charge you might want
to consider setting up a Tetrakarn shield or use an Attack Mirror to protect
yourself. Make sure you set the other characters to Assign Target so they
concentrate on a single enemy, this helps to thin their ranks and to
discourage them using multiple Last Resorts against you.
___________________________________Floor 252___________________________________
Jotun of Grief
As you can see, the only way to damage this bondage freak is with piercing
attacks. This makes a party of Aigis, Ken and Yukari the most logical choice
for this battle. Mitsuru learns Ice Break and Koromaru (in <P3>) or Junpei
(in <FES>) learns Fire Break, so they can work here if one the above is too
low a level to be effective. Do be ready with some Dis-Rages or have some
Rings of Serenity equipped if you do bring Mitsuru or Koromaru/Junpei,
however, so they won’t undo all your work if they become enraged. Make sure
to have the Protagonist wield a spear or bow as well.
He loves to try enrage you with Infuriate and Stagnant Air. To protect
yourself you will need a Persona with the Null Rage skill or a Ring of
Serenity. In <P3> you can use just Uriel as your Persona as he comes with
Null Rage. In <FES> however Uriel’s skills have changed and he doesn’t have
Null Rage. The only Persona in <FES> that has Null Rage is Oumitsunu, and
then only if you level him up first. A better Idea is to have everyone equip

a Ring of Serenity (Heart Item from Fortuna) to prevent anybody from becoming
enraged. Still, it might be worth it to let Ken or Aigis become Enraged, as
it will increase their damage output by quite a bit. If you bring Mitsuru or
Koromaru with you make sure they are wearing a Ring of Serenity.
He does use Primal Force and Megidolaon, so be sure to keep any enraged
characters at max HP. As long as you can keep the Protagonist from becoming
enraged you shouldn’t have too many problems. When you get him down to a
sliver of health left, however, he starts using Mind Charge then Megidolaon,
so try to finish him off before he can get it off.

like they were in <P3> the deadline is two days before the full
moon. Be aware of that as you schedule your time.

The Reaper
-Arcana: Death
-Null: Light/Dark, Strong: Slash/Strike/Pierce/Fire/Ice/Elec/Wind
-Recommended Level: 80
Unless you’re after the button for Elizabeth’s request you should not even
bother with this guy and escape while you can. The Reaper is a nasty
opponent, he can use can use the all target -Dyne level skills for all four
elements along with Light and Darkness attacks as well. Not only that, but
his attacks can do over 700 HP worth of damage, so it will be difficult even
surviving against him, let alone beating this guy.
I would recommend the Horus Persona here because it is immune to Light and
Darkness (when leveled up) and has Mediarahan. (Its lack of elemental
weaknesses is also a plus) As long as you’re strong enough to not get killed

in one hit you should be able keep your head above water with Mediarahan.
Thankfully The Reaper doesn’t have an overwhelming amount of HP so you should
be able to concentrate on keeping everyone alive while your allies kill him.

||||||||||||||||||||||||Frequently Asked Questions [007]|||||||||||||||||||||||
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
-Q: What’s up with those Gold Shadows? Every time I try to fight one they run
away!
A: Annoying aren’t they? If those Gold shadows spot you they will run away,
and if you try to corner them they will simply disappear, and even if you
do manage to get into battle there’s a chance that they will escape right
off the bat. You have to approach from directly behind them or they’ll
spot you. When you finally manage to encounter one you still have to fight
the damn thing. They will nullify all elemental magic, and have a weakness
to one type of physical damage. (Which type they are weak to is random and
changes every time you encounter one of these guys) I would recommend
having a party where you will be able to use all three Physical attack
types (So have Yukari/Aigis/Ken in the first slot, Akihiko/Shinjiro in the
second, and Mitsuru/Junpei in the final slot) and make sure that when you
get into battle you set your allies’ Tactics to “Conserve SP” to keep them
from using magic against them. With this setup it’s just a matter of
finding their weakness before they flee.
-Q: That Girl at the Shrine wants “something fizzy,” but I can’t figure out
what she wants!
A: That girl is looking for a Mad Bull drink, which is sold at the vending
machines in the Dorms. This is a bit annoying since entering the Dorms
advances time to the Evening, so you’ll either need to have the foresight
to get a Mad Bull beforehand or waste a day in getting her a Mad Bull.
-Q: I just fused a Persona and it has this big red heart next to its name.
What does it mean when that happens?
A: When you fuse certain Personae there’s a chance (about one-third, I
believe) that it will have “something within itself” (as Igor puts it)
signified by that heart icon on their status screen. When you level up
this persona enough to learn all their skills you will get a message that
the Persona want to give you an item, accept the item and it will give you
the item. (Note that if the Persona gets enough experience from their
S.Link to learn all their skills at once they won’t give you their Heart
Item right there, but rather when the next time they level up.)

-Q: That Dying Young Man at the Shrine keeps asking for his Red Fountain Pen,
but I have no idea where to look for it!
A: Yeah, establishing an S.Link with the Dying Young Man at the Naganaki
Shrine is rather annoying, not only because the solution is so obscure but
also because it requires a specific series of events to happen beforehand.
First you have to talk to the Dying Young Man and have him tell you about
his pen. Next you have to wait until Koromaru Joins SEES on August 8th.
Talk to Koromaru in the Dorms and if the Dying Man has told you about his
pen there will be an option to check under Koromaru’s paw, do so and
you’ll find the Red Fountain Pen. (Why he’s got it I have no idea) Take
the Pen to the Dying Young Man and you’ll be able to establish the Sun
S.Link.
-Q: Gah! I’ve been going out with a girl for a while now and her Social Link
hasn’t ranked up at all! What’s going on?
A: Social Links with female classmates simply take longer to rank up than
other Social Links. It can sometimes take up to five dates before the
Social Link ranks up. For this you always want to have a Persona of the
same Arcana as the Social Link, and when you go out with them on a
Sunday/Holiday always be sure to give them a gift.
-Q: I got the highest score on an exam and when I talked to Mitsuru in the
evening she wouldn’t give me my Card Set! What’s going on?
A: Mitsuru will only give you a Card Set if you talk to her in the halls of
Gekkoukan High during the After School period. She won’t give it to you if
you talk to her during the evening in the Dorm.
