It is my pleasure to introduce Jaideep Visave. Jaideep recently completed his Masters Degree in Disaster
Risk and Emergencies Management at the Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Pavia (IUSS), Italy.
During his career he has shown strong interest in Disaster Risk Reduction issues and has been actively
engaged in public projects in India that strived to actively engage the community in reducing risk.

I worked directly with Jaideep in Italy as his supervisor during his internship at the Global Earthquake
Model Foundation (GEM). Jaideep assisted us with communication- and fund raising-related activities. His
internship lasted just a couple of months, which was not time enough to produce any tangible results.
Jaideep, however, demonstrated enthusiasm, responsibility and a hard-working spirit. I understand that
he is applying to a Ph.D. program. I think that his commitment to improve himself and advance in his
career, besides the experience and knowledge acquired through both academic and real-life-work
activities, makes of him a candidate to be seriously contemplated.
