Philosophy of Education

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.”

(Martin Luther King Jr.) Teachers must: concurrently educate students while following

district and federal standards and policies regarding curriculum and discipline; have

extensive knowledge of the subject taught; be organized and prepared; teach using a variety

of approaches; involve parents in the education process; allow students to have choices by

requiring them to participate in the learning process; and efficiently and effectively manage

the classroom for maximum student learning, to prepare students to participate effectively in

the “real world” after they graduate.
