A leader is capable of taking hold of situations. Given the least amount of

resources and making the most out of it; a leader must be capable of turning
the tide in any situation. Filipinos want a responsible and intelligent
leader who takes into account what his co-leaders and subordinates feel. For
anyone to be thought of as a great leader he/she must know how to and how not
to act. Many of the leaders we see today do exhibit the characteristics
needed to create a productive environment; it can be observed in what they do
that they take in to account that they have to be both serious and
understanding. A leader must not be quick to act upon anything, he/she must
know that his decisions will affect not only him/herself but everyone around.
He/she must be an inspiration to everyone around. The performance of
individuals is dependent on the morale of the group, and the biggest factor
that affects this is how the leader treats his/her subordinates. He/she must
also be a firm authority figure and know that the slightest deviation from
the rules and regulations is a stepping stone to insubordination. A leader
must be a figurehead and not a hypocrite; an effective way of convincing
people is to fist convince yourself, a leader must be capable of doing this.
A leader must be open to change; without accepting change improvements are
very hard to make, along with progress or the possible achievement of
success.
