The document discusses principles of management and quality approaches for different organizations. It recommends a 3 level managerial hierarchy with divided labor and clear lines of authority for one case. For another case developing software for different age groups, it suggests a total quality management approach to understand customer preferences and trends. For a third case of McDonalds, it analyzes uneven staff allocation slowing progress and recommends evenly distributing people among tasks.

1. Fayol’s Principles mention division of work, authority,
responsibility and discipline; in this case, it would be best to have 3 levels on the managerial hierarchy. Labor would be divided evenly; save for the supervisors who will have both their own tasks and the responsibility of instructing their subordinates. Authority will follow the hierarchy, individuals will only report to those with direct authority towards them.
2. Total quality management approach, because the company is to
develop a software meant for different age groups; meaning different preferences that are subject to change given the impermanent trends. The best approach would be to put yourself in the consumers’ shoes and think about what would make you buy this software. B.
1. McDonalds- the workgroup consists of the manager, kitchen staff,
counter staff, security and clean-up staff. They tend to put more people than necessary on clean-up rather than on the counter; this tends to slow down progress. They should allocate people evenly among the tasks.
