Lab 6: NAT Assessment 2018

INSTRUCTION

1. Download Lab manual as uploaded in the whatsapp channel.


2. Use packet tracer to run the lab.
3. Before start configure in the packet tracer, make sure you understand what
you need to do.
4. The lab manual on NAT and the assessment sheet should be read parallel
whereas you need to configure based on lab manual and then you need to
answer the questions (lab6.doc) one you finish configure step by step.
5. Once this assignments are completed, make sure you compress in zip file both
packet tracer and answers sheet. Name the file as following:

QUESTION

1. After configure Step 1, ping to address 209.165.200.241, 209.165.202.129 and


209.165.200.226 from Branch router. Do the pings to the ISPs loopback and HQ
router address success? Why?

2. Proceed to Step 2. Add configuration of LAN address at Branch site with


address 192.168.2.0/24 as shown in the figure 1. Ping form PC to address
209.165.200.241, 209.165.202.129 and 209.165.200.226. Do the pings to the ISPs
loopback and HQ router address success? Why?

3. Proceed to Step 3. At (b) change the configuration:


a. HQ(config)# ip nat pool HQ-NAT-POOL 209.165.200.233 209.165.200.237
prefix-length 29 to HQ(config)# ip nat pool HQ-NAT-POOL
209.165.200.233 209.165.200.237 netmask ____________ to replace
prefix-length 29

How this configuration command affect to the network?

4. Proceed to Step 4.
5. Use command:
a. Branch# show ip nat translations, explain the ouput.
6. Ping address 209.165.200.241, 209.165.202.129 and 209.165.200.226 from
branch site, What is the result? Justify your answer.
7. Use command:
a. Branch# show ip nat statistics , explain the ouput.
8. Discuss the synopsis of this lab including its purpose and objectives.
