BIOGRAPHY Project

Directions: On a separate piece of paper, write the answers to the following


questions using the legitimate websites and/or library resources. Use complete
sentences. Some questions may take several sentences to answer all parts. This
will be turned in for an approval by Mrs. Hong BEFORE you begin your project.

1. What city was he/she born in? What years did he/she live?

2. Where did he/she grow up and what was it like there?

3. In what ways was his/her life remarkable?

4. In what ways was his/her life admirable?

5. What human qualities (kind, honest, responsible, hard-working, etc.) were

most influential in shaping the way this person lived and influenced his or her

times?

6. Which quality or trait proved most troubling and difficult?

7. Which quality or trait was most beneficial?

8. Did this person make any major mistakes or bad decisions? If so, what were

they and how would you have chosen and acted differently if you were in

their shoes?

9. What are the two or three most important lessons you or any other young

person might learn from the way this person lived?

10. An older person or mentor is often very important in shaping the lives of

gifted people by providing guidance and encouragement. Did your famous

person have any mentors that helped shape his/her life? Explain.
11. What do you think it means to be a hero? Was your person a "hero?" Why?

Why not? How is a hero different from a celebrity?

12. Why is this person seen as famous? What did he/she do to contribute to

the world? What would the world be like if he/she had never been born?
