Theme Park-2018

Transmittal
To: TRC Inc
Subject: Theme Park
I am pleased to enclose “Theme Park-2018”. This report contains the cost of building, cost of
employees, and cost of maintenance. It also includes revenue and location. This report uses
graphs to show annual wage of employees in each state, maintenance, revenue of parks in
2013, and number of theme parks on each continent. With these statistics we can conclude the
feasibility of constructing a theme park in the United States.

I hope that this report will provide the committee with enough information needed to assess
the feasibility of building a new theme park in the United States this year or next year. Please
let me know if you have any questions or need further information. You can reach me at
tnikkila@comcast.net or (555)555-6789.

Theme Park-2018

Abstract
This report examines the feasibility of constructing a new theme park in the United Sates. This
information is provided through statistics of United States theme parks based on: revenue,
costs, required employees, jobs created, demographics, and location. With the predictions
based off of these statistical trends we can conclude the feasibility of constructing a new theme
park in the United States market and how it will affect where it is established. It will also help
let you know if this year or next year is a good year for building a new theme park or
expanding/updating current ones.

Executive Summary
This report examines the feasibility of constructing a new theme park in the United States This
information is provided through statistics of United States theme parks based on: costs of
building, employees, maintenance, and location. With the predictions based off of these
statistical trends we can conclude the feasibility of constructing a new theme park in the
current United States market and how it will affect where it is established. With all the above
factors considered, it is entirely plausible to be able to establish a new theme park. The
feasibility of opening a new them park in the United States is best seen in the attendance and
expected growth statistics. With both attendance and theme park market share growing
steadily, the demand for more theme parks is increasing.

Costs of Building
The average cost of building per expected first year guest is $110. So, if you hope to attract 1
million guests in the first year you will need about $110,000,000. The newest steel coasters cost
about $20 million.

Employees
Theme parks typically have 8 types of employees. There are the food and beverage workers
who work the dining areas and congestion stands. There are the merchandise workers who
work the shops. There are the attraction employees to work the rides. There are the custodial
people who know the very well. There are the front entrance/ticketing people you sell you
tickets to get into the theme park. There is the Security who are there to protect the people.
There are the grounds maintenance employees who make the place look nice, and finally you
have the entertainment employees who dress up. Theme park employees make between $18k
and $30k a year depending on state. (see graph below)

Maintenance
Theme parks have their staff do routine maintenance on their roller coasters. Sometimes the
will hire a professional company to come in and fix the ride if their employees can’t fix it.

Revenue
A theme park revenue depends on how well it is built, its prices, and location. The graph below
shows the revenue of different parks in 2013. In the graph the lowest is Midway Attractions
with a revenue of $8 million. The highest is Seaworld with a revenue of $144 million.

Location
Location is key to the success of your theme park. You would want it in a location close to a city,
but not too close to another theme park. You would also want hotels nearby to draw in more
people from around the world or have a place where people can sleep at the theme park.
Currently Asia has the most theme parks North America is third and Australia is last.
(here is a graph of who has the most theme parks)

(here is a small list of who does and doesn’t have on site accommodations)

theme park. The feasibility of opening a new them park in the United States is best seen in the
