Hello, my name is Kristen Indriso, and I am very excited for this gateway opportunity into
teaching. I have always wanted to work in special education since I was a little girl. I have just
recently received my bachelor's degree from Rider University. My major is elementary education with
a subject field in psychology and minor in special education. I also graduated from Burlington County
College two years with my Associates in Arts.
I have been working in the field of special education for two years. My first clinical internship
was working with individuals with multiple disabilities from sixth to eighth grade at Mercer County
Special Services. Then, I volunteered in the same classroom for almost two years where I received my
substitute teaching certification last April. I was a long-term substitute one on one from April to the
end of June with a four-year-old child with cerebral palsy at Mercer County Special Services. This
past summer I worked as a one on one assistant with the same child. Also, I just completed my
student teaching experience at Clara Barton Elementary School, which I received the opportunity to
observe a self-contained third, fourth, and fifth grade classroom for three weeks. I currently work for
Sidekicks Support Services, which I have three clients with special needs ages ranging from twenty-
five to fifty years old.
