 The Hon. Margaret McCain spoke this evening at St. Thomas, at the Kinsella Auditorium
within McCain Hall, which is aptly named after her.

November 3
Pride in Education
 Viewed a presentation discussing the importance of inclusiveness with respect to the
growing LGBTQ community, a quite vulnerable community that is rapidly growing;
many members of this community being students at schools all over the
province/country/world.

November 27
Wonder – Cineplex Cinemas Fredericton
 Traveled with my Grade 7 students to the local movie theater to watch “Wonder”, a book
to movie adaptation of a popular novel that the students read in grade 6 at BCMS.

January 19
Applying for Teaching Jobs
  Attended a session involving tips for new graduates looking for jobs going into the
future.

January 26
Communicating effectively (report cards, parent-teacher interviews, etc.)
 Attended a session revolving around effective written, and face to face communication
between students and parents. This session was led by Karen Godsoe-Daigle

February 2
Developing your Teaching Philosophy Statement
 Attended a session focused on helping to assist in the development in my teaching
philosophy statement. This session was lead by Shawna Allen-Vandertoorn.
March 2
PLC Workshop
 Students participated in a four-stage workshop revolving around Professional Learning
Communities.
