Student’s to begin race for student body president and vice-president positions at
Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas

Two sets of pairs of students, Zac Surritt and Jim Henry and also Jack Siebert and Sydney
Fox, will have the winners announced from their long seamster of campaigning for the office of
the student body president and vice president of Washburn University to be announced on March
16, 2018, this will take place in the Memorial Union in the union underground area, at the Spring
Break Kickoff event where multiple freebies will be given away, including three big ticket
raffles.

The final announcement will happen at the largest spring break kick off ever, in hopes to
get more students to attend. Raffles include a Nintendo Switch, two tickets to Worlds of Fun in
Kansas City, and also a $100 gift card to the Ichabod Shop.

“I’m super excited to give away a lot more then the raffle tickets,” said Sarah Arriaga,
Chief of Staff of the Washburn Student Government Association. “We will be giving away tank
tops and water bottles to the first 300 students that come.”

This election will mark the 106th student election to date since the establishment of the
student government association in 1912. The Washburn Student Government Association main
goal is to have students serving students.
