SUCCESSFUL STORY

PEDRO PAULET
Paulet was born in 1874 in the district of Tiabaya, in Arequipa. He was
characterized as an active student, interested in science.

He received a scholarship from the Peruvian government in recognition for his


academic excellence. He travelled to Europe to study engineering. He studied
at the University of Paris and graduated as a chemical engineer, although he
was also a mechanic, geographer, architect, inventor and journalist.

Another creation of Paulet was the Reaction Engine. Von Braun, former director
of NASA, recognized the work and his help for the man to approach the moon.
He died in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentina) on January 30, 1945.
