To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express interest in being a part of your team. As someone who has experienced
the loss of many of my own family members, I can appreciate a wide variety of positions that are
offered. I could bring a friendly, knowledgeable and hard-working attitude to any available
positions.

As a current Psychology and Communications double major at the University of Dubuque, I

have taken multiple courses that have helped expand my knowledge of my desired profession. I
have also personally experienced the grief of losing multiple family members whom I was very
close with, so I would be able to have a special connection with the patient’s family. I am
grateful for what I learned through these experiences and I would love to give that experience to
another individual.

In addition, I currently work as an intern for my professor and advisor, Dr. Henry Grubb, PhD.
As his intern, I craft scans and copies of articles that are able to be used for classes, proctored
exams, help with studies, etc. As a result, I have gained a stronger understand of communication
with professionals and students, as well as gained a understanding for any administrative
position.

I am extremely active in other areas around campus and the community. I have worked at my
university’s theater, the office of Student Life, and as a Resident Assistant, as well as being
involved and maintaining professional leadership positions in Sigma Lambda Gamma National
Sorority Inc., University of Dubuque Greek Life, and Heritage Preforming Arts Advisory
Committee.
