IFS EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

IFS LAUNCHES ENHANCED SOLUTION FOR RELIABILITY-

CENTERED MAINTENANCE (RCM)
IFS has enhanced its reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) product offering. Delivered through a flexible
cloud-based model, the solution has been optimized for any industry that implements complex or capital-
intensive assets.

The need for flexibility and configurability within the IFS RCM solution, its implementation across the company’s assets,
and ability to grow with a maturing maintenance regime through the asset’s lifecycle has led to a review of the product
offering, which has resulted in a new, enhanced IFS RCM solution.

KEY ENHANCEMENTS
Traditionally, a single criticality value is associated with a piece of equipment; today’s requirements call for multiple
criticality matrixes defined for each risk element of:
● Personnel injury
● Environmental spills
● Equipment/Material damage
● Production losses
This is especially evident in the Offshore industry, where HSE is imbedded in the industry’s ethos. IFS RCM gives
flexibility to a risk-based reliability maintenance solution in defining:
● Single or multiple risk elements
● The visibility of each risk element’s severity and probability.

SEAMLESS EAM/RCM INTERFACE

The seamless interface between IFS EAM™ and the IFS RCM Toolkit™ means that maintenance decisions and criticality
analysis will be visible within IFS EAM. Together with the IFS Replication ™ solution, offshore industry compliance with
PMS RCM Class accreditation is now visible at the coalface.

MASTER RCM ANALYSIS

With Master RCM Analysis, the resulting FMEA, maintenance decision, criticality analysis and corresponding
maintenance plan can be propagated across multiple equipment tags. This is a must-have for asset-intensive industries
operating, for example, a global offshore fleet, utility distribution networks or even within the same facility. Equipment
characteristics, functional performance requirements, and operating context can be grouped as being similar. This is
much more effective than traditional RCM Tools that require a separate RCM analysis for each equipment tag.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS
The level at which an RCM analysis will be conducted within the equipment technical structure and equipment seen as
safety-critical elements will be dynamic, developing as the company’s maintenance strategy and industry’s HSE
requirements mature, e.g. where authorities stipulate compliance in barrier management and safety cases following a
major disaster within the industry. IFS RCM gives this flexibility, with an additional dimension to the equipment with
which the RCM Analysis is to be connected.

GOING FORWARD THROUGH IFS IoT AND DIGITALIZATION

Given that RCM focuses on the equipment’s current condition, the risk impact of functional failure and the required
mitigating action, IoT tools make it possible to include the equipment’s condition in a maintenance decision logic in
ways that were not possible before. IoT is not mere meter reading, as is the case with a SCADA interface, but measures
conditions that are analyzed to provide a result in the form of predictive analytics. RCM identifies the analysis results
that should be focused on.

IFS RCM solution complemented by IFS digitalization IoT solution is the way forward.
