My name is Dan Markwell, I am a student at the College of DuPage and I’m writing to you to
request a copy of the Global Initiative Center’s study abroad scholarship booklet. I learned about
the booklet after visiting the Center’s website, while researching study abroad programs and
scholarship opportunities.
I am highly interested in participating in such a program here at COD and would be most
appreciative of any information on ways of receiving financial aid for studying abroad.

can offer you. I have received your request for our booklet entitled “Study Abroad,” and look
forward to providing you with a copy.
However, due to a recent influx of requests like yours, our stock is currently out; we expect to
have new copies within the next two weeks and will be mailing them to all our backlogged
customers upon arrival.
Over these next two weeks I encourage you to return to our website, there we have a
downloadable document that contains supplemental materials to assist you. While this document
will not be as thorough as the booklet you’ll receive, it will act as an introduction to applying for
study abroad scholarships.

Mr. Mason,

I write you today, having just received my order of 10,000 booklets. Much to my displeasure, the
products I had ordered are not what I have received. Each booklet I have received is missing
multiple pages and cannot be distributed to my client’s in its current state.
Given that the order was already several days late in being delivered, with the added delay of a
reprinting, there will be no way for the Global Initiative Center to deliver our services to our
clients in a timely matter.
The Center expects a timely delivery of the correct product, to not delay our clients any longer
than necessary. We will also be reconsidering the benefits of a continued relationship between
our organizations.
