Trend Analysis

1. Total Revenue
Above Table shown the trend analysis of TATA CONSULTANCY LIMITED from Financial

Year 2004-05 to financial year 2008-09. It reveals that total revenue of company in Financial

Year 2004-05 was Rs. 9,748.47 Crore. In Financial year 2005-06 it was jumped to Rs. 13,263.99

Crore, almost 73% jump in total revenues this shown the positiveness of working environment

provided by TCS, that was the major factor of rising total revenue and trust of people in TCS. In

Year 2006-07 it was again goes up to Rs. 18,685.21 Crore, it shows the rise of RS.

5421.22Crores in comparison between previous year. In year 2007-08 Total Revenue shown in

table is Rs. 22,619.52, it was good to see because it shown the growth of TCS in terms of

Revenues. In FY 2008-09 it was Rs. 27,812 Crore, it shown regular growth in Total Revenue. In

study, it was shown that Total Revenue of our firm is going high and high. It had shown the

positive impact of Tata Consultancy Firm, because if companies’ total revenue goes up than

company is trying to make heavy profit from it.

Figure 4.1 reveals that Total Revenue of TCS from Financial Year 2004-05 to Financial Year

2008-09 was Rs. 92,130.07 Crores. In study researcher showed it in percentage because he

wishes to know in her study period which year got the maximum revenue generated by Tata

Consultancy Limited. In year 2008-09 got Rs. 27,812.88 Crore as Total Revenue followed by

financial year 2007-08 Rs.22619.52 Crore as total revenue. Researcher realizes that in her study

period Graph of Total Revenue was goes up without any drawn fall.

Figure 4.2 reveals that, total Revenue generated was always goes up in researchers study period.

It showed the sound position of the TCS.

2. International Revenues to Total Revenues


Researcher next aspect was International revenues to total revenues; Formula

applied to find out International to Total Revenue was as follows:

In Financial Year 2004-05 it was shown 87.82% in trend analysis. Except in 2005-
06 it always goes up in terms of percentages. It also again had shown a good sign
in terms of international participation. Researcher trying to explain it through pie
chart (Figure 4.3)
3. Profit Before Interest, Dividend and Tax (PBIDT)

In Study period, researcher found TCS profit before Interest, Dividend and Tax was Rs.

2909.96 Crore in Financial Year 2004-05, Rs. 3,798.19 Crore, in Financial year 2005-06,

Rs. 5,367.9 Crore in 2006-07, Rs. 6,439.67 Crore, In Financial Year 2007-08 Rs.

6,439.67 Crore and Last year of Study (Financial year 2008-09) it was Rs. 6,742.81

Crore. In above study, it was clear that company has financial sound and bright future.

Figure 4.4 reveals that in researchers study period, maximum profit shown in

26.69% in financial year 2008-09, followed 25.49% in by financial year 2007-08,

followed by 21.27% in financial year 2006-07. In above figure it was sure that

PBIDT was increase in every year (during researcher study period FY 2004-09)
4. Profit After Tax (PAT)

Profit after tax was calculated by following formula:

Profit after Tax = PBIDT – Interest – Dividend – Tax

In TCS, it was found that Profit after tax in 2004-05 was Rs. 1976.9 Crore, In

Financial Year 2005-06 it move to Rs. 2966.74 , In Financial Year 2006-07 it

again goes to 4,212.63 Crore here company profit cross Rs.1000 Crore barrier it

was great achievement of Tata Consultancy Limited. In 2007-08 Profit after tax

was found Rs.5, 026.02 Crore and Final year of Study it was again cross mark of

Rs. 1000 Crore as Profit and Amount was Rs. 5,256.42 Crore.

Figure 4.5 reveals that in researchers study period, maximum profit shown in

27.04% in financial year 2008-09, followed 25.86% in by financial year 2007-08,


followed by 21.68% in financial year 2006-07. In above figure it was sure that

PAT was increase in every year (during researcher study period FY 2004-09)

5. Earning Per Share (EPS)

Study reveals that Earning Per Share of Tata Consultancy Services in Research

Duration (2004-2009) was also increases.

It was Rs. 20.20 in Financial Year 2004-05 and Rs. 53.63 in Financial Year 2008-

09. It showed that company has good financial achievements in past and good

planning for future also.

6. Share Capital

During research period it was found that value of share capital of TCS is

always rise, it was values Rs. 48.01Crore in year 2004-05 and rise up to Rs.
197.86 Crore in FY 2008-09. It showed companies great policy and strategic

planning.
