The residents of Kampung Bahagia are very hardworking and co-operative. Last weekend, they organised
a cleaning-up campaign with the slogan ‘Treasure Our River’. Early in the morning, they gathered near the
river with their tools and equipments. They brought along some hoes, spades, rakes and some garbage
bags.
They went into the river and started to clean it up. The residents picked up the rubbish floating on
the water with a rattan basket. They threw the rubbish into a garbage bag. They had to clear the river of
rubbish that clogged up the river bank.
After a few hours of cleaning in the river, they took a rest. In the afternoon, after they had finished
all their tasks in the cleaning-up campaign, they took their lunch served by the other residents.
Later in the evening, they put up the signboard with the words, ‘Treasure Our River’ along the river
