According to ( Miller, T, 2003.P.23). Most people do not think highly of the farmer and of
agriculture in general. After all, there is no "visible" connection between the rural and the urban
life. As long as the food is on the table or in the market, agriculture is simply not important to
most people. However, not that many people think that school, sports, movies, and society would
not be possible without agriculture. Agriculture was a crucial science that gave rise to the earliest
of settlements and allowed humans to grow. Agriculture began around the same time in different
areas around the world and with agriculture came the very start of modern civilization. That’s
why …….
Yet how did agriculture begin, why was the beginning of agriculture linked to the beginning of
civilization and where were some of the areas that agriculture took place?

According to (Sable, V. 2009.P 18). While agriculture originated in several different places, it
all began practically the same way and all resulted in settlements and, eventually, society. It
almost seems impossible that a few seeds and plants could result in the creation of society.
However, it is actually not that far off from the truth. While different areas did have different
plants, diets, domestic animals, and agricultural practices, all agriculture seemed to have begun
around ten thousand years ago, in an era known as the Neolithic Revolution. That’s why……

Beginning of the farming

According to ( ) the American Indian developed farming methods as unique and remarkable
as their prize crop. They select the best corn seeds for planting in the next year crop. They
developed a lot of methods for take care their plants, also they learned that the maize grew well
with beans and squash. Also they discovered different ways to prepare and preserve maize. They
boiled the ears, ground the kernel into meal, and add water to cornmeal to make dough. The maize
became so important to many American Indian groups that their religions centered around it.
Tributes created their own stories about the origins of maize. Together, corn, beans and squash
provided a good diet for American Indians. That’s why

Then the maize was in European’s hands, they don’t have idea what maize was, and they sent the maize
to Asia and Africa , where some of then traveled. Columbus brought back maize to Spain, after its arrival
to Europe, and the maize quickly became a staple crop in Portugal. The maize became a very important
food in: Yugoslavia, Romania, turkey and china. In 1600s and 1700s maize became popular in southern
European. People fed the grain to their animals, Maize also helped to increase the numbers of pigs and
cattle and improved to them as a protein source for humans. It was a plentiful food supply encouraged
Europeans to have large families.
Then the maize was in America after 1492, next in Africa by 1550 and was very helpful to those countries
because it fed hungriest multitudes and help animals to grow. We have to give thanks to the American
Indian because they discovered and found methods to cultivate the maize.
Thanks to the maize now a day we can have in our plates the next list of food:

 Arepa, Banku, Battered , sausage, Binaki. Bulz, Cachapa, Champurrado, Chipa Guasu,
Cocoloşi, Conkies, Corn chowder, Corn crab soup, Corn dog, Corn flakes, Corn fritte, Corn
soup, Corn stew, Corn tortilla.

The Corn today is one of the four basic food grains, because it can grow in so many climates and soils,
more than 300 million acres of land worldwide are planted with corn.
The Effects of Pesticides on Agriculture.

The growing demand for enhanced food productivity to meet the needs of the global population
has led to use sophisticated agriculture technology in which pesticides play a crucial role.
Pesticides are extensively used to increase agricultural products by preventing, controlling, or
lessening the damage caused by a pest (John et al., 2001,P.18).

Pesticides have been widely used throughout the world since the middle of the last century. They
are mainly used in agriculture and animal production, both including substances with high toxic effects
and persistence in the environment (Beyer and Biziuk, 2008, P.20).

Pesticide residues in livestock generally accumulate by two ways. Either pesticides are applied to
animals through insecticide-impregnated ear tag, spray, self-treatment back rubber, dust bags, injectable
or through pesticides spray on agricultural crops and fodder (Poppenga, 1999, P.6O).

Pesticide use has a positive and dramatic effect on agricultural production through protection of crops
against insects, pests and diseases Kaeew et al. 1996, P.104. Also for all pesticides to be effective against
the pests, they must be biologically active, or toxic. Because pesticides are toxic, they are also potentially
hazardous to humans, fauna, animals and environment in general (Vega et al., 2005,P.76).

At the same time, the livestock reared on pesticides contaminated soils, crops, and fodders may
accumulate considerable residues in edible tissues. For example the accumulation of dieldrin residues in
sheep from ingestion of contaminated soils was studied and it was concluded that dieldrin concentration
in the fats of sheep that consume dieldrin contaminated soil fall within 10 days of removal from the
source of contamination. However, dieldrin accumulates in the wool of sheep that consume dieldrin
contaminated soils (Paton and Petterson, 1997).(P.87).
