Subject : 1 Comments on Work Schedule
2 Rate of progress
Dear Sir/Madam,
We acknowledge the receipt of work schedule of May 2018 for the referenced project
enclosed in your letter ref.no KFWWTPP/0220/18 dated 02 May 2017 and
KFWWTPP/0223/18 dated 02 May 2017 for Lot-1 and Lot-2 respectively.
Accordingly, we have evaluated the work schedule and noted the following comments for your
consideration:
Your monthly schedule is not extracted from the master work program
Resource schedule should be incorporated in your monthly schedule.
You have been instructed to temporarily suspend some works due to the need for
integration with electro-mechanical works. Therefore, you should not incorporate such
activities in your monthly schedule until such time that the E-M contractor/supplier has
been engaged and submitted its shop drawings that has to be approved by our office.
Therefore, the following activities should not be incorporated in your schedule:
Lot 1-Sludge dewatering building first floor slab and first floor elevation column, sludge
Stabilization Tank (SST) upper part
Lot 2- Sludge dewatering building first floor slab, biological/sludge treatment (blower &
energy building) ground floor, and chemical building first floor cement screed and pre-
treatment unit top tie beam concrete work should.
Furthermore, as compared to the monthly schedule and also with the master work program,
the actual site rate of work progress is very poor. For instance, for the units found on the
critical path, nothing has been executed and even no supply of materials for the intended work
as per your plan. The major shortfalls being rebar and concrete supply.
Therefore, we hereby strongly advise you to speed up the progress by adopting revised
methods, which may require increases in the working hours and/or material supply at your risk
and cost. Please be informed that any extended time beyond the completion time that could
not be justified will subject the Contractor to pay delay damages as per Sub-clause 8.7 of the
GCC.
Yours faithfully,
