Story behind the design

Everyone a looking out the window on a car ride pictures characters running along side navigating the
obstacles they’re passing. The story of Hiro 6 Rail was born from this experience.
Hiro was trying to improve his microbots so he wouldn’t need to wear the transmitter. Instead of being
able to control them, they have begun to think for themselves and have escaped to San Francisco. Now Hiro
and Baymax need your help to get the team together and round up the microbots.
Wasabi, GoGo, Honey Lemon and Fred have spread out across the city. Each of them has been drawn
to different parts of the city Japantown, Golden Gate Park, the Mission, and Ghirardelli Square. Hiro and
Baymax are taking the rail as they follow the microbots to their friends to get their help in the cleanup effort.
As you board the rail you will join Hiro and Baymax on their mission. As you travel towards your destination
you will get to watch the heroes as they navigate the city of San Francisco around you.

Guest Experience
In this day and age people want to get from one place to another as quickly as possible. But there are
still those who enjoy the journey. Hiro 6 Rail is for these people.
When boarding the rail you have the choice of four stations positioned around the city in Japantown,
Golden Gate Park, the Mission, and Ghirardelli Square. Wasabi, GoGo, Honey Lemon, or Fred will greet
depending on which station you enter. At each station you will get a unique experience based on each
character.
Once you board the rail the fun really begins. Each cable car vehicle travels in groups of three. As you
look outside the window along the journey Hiro and Baymax with their friends rush about trying to contain
the microbots. While there is an overarching story, there are also small arcs from station to station, for those
only traveling one stop. To help bring the experience to life the car sits on a hydraulic platform to add in the
fun. For those who wish the last car of every group is motion free. The hope is to make commuting when
enjoying San Francisco, a chance to stretch your imagination and smile.

Vehicle
Design
Cars will depart in groups of three. The
front two red cars will have hydraulics enabled.
The final car will be blue in color and will be for
those who wish for a smoother commute.
The cars will not feature any windows and
instead have interior walls covered entirely by
Organic Light Emitting Diode displays. The
OLED displays are flexible, allowing seamless
viewing on nontraditional surfaces.
These innovative displays will mirror the
stunning views of San Francisco that would
ordinarily be limited by windows. The real time
views will provide a real world background for
the Hiro and friends to carry out their stories and
immerse the passengers.
Organic solar panels will be placed on the
top of the trains. This third generation solar cell is
not solely a form of clean energy. It is
mechanically flexible, allowing the ability to
harness energy on nonlinear surfaces. And they
are color customizable providing the opportunity
to make surfaces aesthetically pleasing.

Station
Design
The Hiro 6 Rail will have four stations,
each themed with either Wasabi, Honey
Lemon, GoGo Tamago, or Fred.
Upon entering the station, guests will be
find character themed shops and restaurants
to their right and left. Directly ahead will be the
ticket booths and turnstiles.
Once through the turnstiles, passengers
are directed take stairs or the elevator up to
the platform on the second floor. Here
passengers will take cues from Hiro 6 Rail
casts members. Prior to boarding, passengers
can watch “live” scenes from the heroes’
journey.
Furthermore, keeping the Hiro 6 Rail
environmentally friendly is a high priority. Solar
panels will be placed on the top of each station
to ensure that energy consumed is from a
renewable source. Although San Francisco is
a foggy city and seemingly not ideal for
harnessing solar energy, the cool climate and
the inevitable daylight enable the panels to
perform close to optimum efficiency.
