Trial 1

Time 1:36 minutes

Error (wrong route): 0
Error (walk back): 4
At first, when the guinea pig enters the maze, it turns its head back and try to get out of the
maze by using the entry. Then it starts to move forward to the direction of the red door
which is the correct one. However, it moves back to the entry again. When it is moving
forward to the right door, one of the group member pushed it a bit and it walk into that
door. I believe that this is not what our group should do, ad it effects the results of the
experiment. After it pass that door, it does not make any mistake through out the maze.
Trial 2
Time 1:56 mintues
Error (wrong route): 0
Error (walk back): 9
This is the second trial, but instead of taking shorter time, the guinea pig take longer time
than the first trial. Moreover, the guinea pig also made more mistake in this trial compare to
the first trial that he did.
Trial 3
Time 1:10 minutes
Error (wrong route): 0
Error (walk back): 3
In this third trial, the guinea pig is able to solve the maze faster than the first two trials and
it also made lesser mistake. The guinea pig seems to remember some parts of the maze
already.
Trial 4
Time 0.40 minute
Error (wrong route): 0
Error (walk back): 2
In this trial, the guinea pig is moving faster and able to solve maze in less than a minute.
Furthermore, the mistakes are way much less than those of the previous trials.
Trial 5
Time 0.30 minute
Error (wrong route): 0
Error (walk back): 0
This is the last trial and the guinea pig make no mistake at all. Moreover, this is the fastest
time of all trials. However, the guinea pig did not walk out to the exit of the maze, but
instead it went out, grab its food and return to the maze.
Conclusion
To conclude, the guinea pig is able to follow the cues even though it made some mistakes in
almost all of the trials. It remembers the cues and signals that we teach it. However, in the
last two trials, it seems that the guinea pig can memorize the maze and follow what it
remembers. Overall the cue is effective, but when the guinea pig can memorize the maze
already it doesn’t play any role in helping the guinea pig to solve the maze.
