April 1974; age 42 years; better known as Anggun) is an Indonesian singer who now has
French citizenship. She was the daughter of Darto Singo, a Java-blooded artist, and Dien
Herdina, a woman whose relatives still Yogyakarta Palace. She began her career by
appearing in a stage Ancol at the age of 7 years, and then he recorded an album of children
two years later. Under the guidance of musician Ian Antono, Anggun recording his first
studio album in Indonesia titled "I've Got the World" in 1986. However, the new name is

Anggun has produced five international album was recorded in two versions, English and

as Julio Iglesias, Peter Gabriel, Pras Michel (The Fugees), Il Divo, David Foster and Melanie

Career and life

Anggun is the first daughter of the couple Darto Singo, an Indonesian artist with Dien
Herdina, a housewife who was a descendant of Yogyakarta palace. Anggun take education in
a Catholic school in the city, although Anggun itself is an adherent of the religion of Islam.
Anggun was raised in a family filled with art. Since the age of seven years Anggun in vocal
practice every day by his own father. Graciously taught various exercises vocal technique
with discipline. Not only that, Anggun also taught to play a musical instrument like a piano.

exchange for rice packets. At the age of nine years, Anggun began creating the songs

success with the singles, Anggun released a studio album titled Anak Putih Abu Abu (1991),
followed by Nocturno (1992). At his young age, Anggun has successfully skyrocketed as one
of the most successful rock singer in the early half of the 1990s. Her albums sold well in the
single market and the single-ruled the charts in Indonesia.

In 1992, Anggun began a relationship with Michel Georgea, a French engineer. They first
met while Anggun held a concert tour in the city of Banjarmasin. [12] They later married, and
Michael was appointed as manager Anggun. At the age of 19 years, Anggun became the
youngest singer who founded his own record company, Bali Cipta Records. [2] He was also
directly involved as a record producer giving more freedom in working on the album itself.
