Potential Hazards In CBDEM

Open Circuit Breakers

Inspecting electrical components and systems risks death by electrocution as well as serious burns
or other injuries to the inspector or to others. Do not attempt these tasks unless you are properly trained
and equipped. Inspecting electrical components and systems risks death by electrocution as well as

Faulty Wirings

Good quality wiring that conforms to safety standards is vital for safety. Poor wiring can increase
chance of fire, power surges, arc faults, and other serious consequences. For this reason, it’s always best
to avoid do-it-yourself electrical work and get professional electricians to perform electrical wiring around
the house. Damaged, worn, cracked or corroded electrical wires can increase the chance of electrical
accidents. Have a qualified electrician check your wiring on a regular basis to ensure wiring is safe. If you
need to, upgrade and replace old and faulty wires.

Some hazards include:

• Loose or improper connections, such as electrical outlets or switches

• Frayed appliance or extension cords
• Pinched or pierced wire insulation, which could occur from, for example, a chair leg sitting on an
extension cord
• Cracked wire insulation caused by heat, age, corrosion or bending
• Overheated wires or cords
• Damaged electrical appliances
• Electrical wire that has been chewed by rodents
Improper Storage

The efficient handling and storing of materials are vital to industry. In addition to raw materials,
these operations provide a continuous flow of parts and assemblies through the workplace and ensure
that materials are available when needed. Unfortunately, the improper handling and storing of materials
often result in costly injuries. Other hazards include falling objects, improperly stacked materials, and
various types of equipment. Fractures and bruises caused by being struck by materials or by being caught
in pinch points, and Cuts and bruises caused by falling materials that have been improperly stored or by
incorrectly cutting ties or other securing devices. Stored materials must not create a hazard for
employees. Employers should make workers aware of such factors as the materials' height and weight,
how accessible the stored materials are to the user, and the condition of the containers where the
materials are being stored when stacking and piling materials.
Poor Housekeeping

Effective housekeeping can eliminate some workplace hazards and help get a job done safely and
properly. Poor housekeeping can frequently contribute to accidents by hiding hazards that cause injuries.
If the sight of paper, debris, clutter and spills is accepted as normal, then other more serious health and
safety hazards may be taken for granted. Housekeeping is not just cleanliness. It includes keeping work
areas neat and orderly; maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards; and removing of waste
materials (e.g., paper, cardboard) and other fire hazards from work areas. It also requires paying attention
to important details such as the layout of the whole workplace, aisle marking, the adequacy of storage
facilities, and maintenance. Good housekeeping is also a basic part of accident and fire prevention.
Effective housekeeping is an ongoing operation: it is not a hit-and-miss cleanup done occasionally.
Periodic "panic" cleanups are costly and ineffective in reducing accidents.
No Danger Warning Placed

Safety signs must be used whenever a hazard or danger cannot be avoided adequately or reduced
in another way. Before installing safety signs an employer should examine whether the hazard can be
avoided or reduced by collective precautions (precautions that protect everybody) or safer ways of doing
the work. Electricity can kill or severely injure people and cause damage to property. However, you can
take simple precautions when working with or near electricity and electrical equipment to significantly
reduce the risk of injury to you, your workers and others around you.

Fire Exit
Fire Exit Signs are a critical part of an Emergency Exit strategy and proper signage is mandated for
all fire exits and fire doors. An effective Fire Exit Safety Plan is much more than posting a few fire exit
signs. Fire Regulations dictate that fire exits are clearly marked and may be seen even in the event of
power loss. Photoluminescent Exit Signs direct people safely when lighting is compromised and time is
critical. Offices of all sizes and types must be equipped with some type of fire emergency system. The goal
is not just to minimize the amount of damage caused by a fire. The employer also wants to ensure that
employees are able to exit the space safely and quickly. That's where the idea of the right type of fire exit
signs come into the picture.
No Smoking Sign

Smoking or holding lit tobacco is not allowed by anyone anywhere on school property (school
buildings, parking lot, soccer field, driveway, courtyard, cars in parking lot) at any time - 24 hours a day, 7
days a week.

Fines and Penalties

• If you are age 16 or older and break the law, you can be fined. If you are 12 to 15 years old you
can be served a summons to attend court with your parents/guardian.
• The minimum fine is $305 for smoking on school property. Repeat offences result in a higher fine.
• The minimum fine for selling, supplying or sharing cigarettes to anyone under 19 is $365.
• All schools must post "No Smoking" signs at each entrance.
Silence Please Signage

Noise pollution affects both health and behavior. Unwanted sound (noise) can damage
psychological and physiological health. Noise pollution can cause hypertension, high stress levels, tinnitus,
hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects. Sound becomes unwanted when it either
interferes with normal activities such as sleep or conversation disruption or diminishes one's quality of
life. Noise-induced hearing loss can be caused by outside (e.g. trains) or inside (e.g. music) noise.
Floor Plan

Indoor Mapping helps to locate your routes indoors, that is, inside malls or huge multistory office
buildings, using Bluetooth or other sensory waves collected by a beacon. This information is translated
into user friendly smart real time maps giving the customers a completely new experience of shopping or
finding your way in a long building and never getting lost.

BENEFITS OF INDOOR MAP

• Improve visitor experience and employee efficiency

• Provide precise directions across multiple floors and multiple buildings
• Customize your map to match your company style
• Use same map for many applications
• Update the map in real-time
• Restrict access to confidential information.
• Browse indoor map with multiple floors or sections
• Search for a store/facility and locate them on indoor map
• Show route for reaching the searched store/facility

Conclusions:

CBDEM building in just on the way of improving their safety counter measure. There are some
parts of the building that need to be renovated to achieve the required level of safety. The administration
must pay more attention to their service of safety to avoid any accidents that may occur Furthermore,
Students must be more cautious on their surroundings because their might be hazards present in the
certain area.
