It's not everyday that you find a teacher who truly deserves his title. It's not everyday that

we find someone to look up to and want to learn from them. Not everyone knows how to live a

good life and so, we need someone to teach us. But who are the true teachers? Who are the

people who we can look up and call 'heroes'?

Most people nowadays see teachers as a professional who graduated with a degree. He is

someone that we see in school, someone that many students hate for giving assignments and tests

yet love for trying to get along with them.

For me, a true teacher is our second parent. They guide us, teach us, keep us from trouble

and are there for us when our lives are becoming too difficult to understand. Just like a parent, a

real teacher would do anything and everything to make sure that his student learns his lesson

even if he has to punish him a hundred times over while he watches and encourages his students

to succeed. The sacrifices on a teacher's part are all made for his students and he asks nothing

more than for his pupils to learn.

Life would be so much easier if a teacher could pick his students. A person wanting to learn

would strive, with great efforts, just to become a deserving student. A fact nowadays is that

many children are given the chance of learning by their parents but only a handful can actually

understand what it's worth. In the end, the efforts of a teacher all go to waste and he looks back

on his past students and feels the guilt and responsibility when he sees that one of them is not

successful in life.
A teacher does his part, so a student should do his too. I don't think that my teachers in the

classroom are my only teachers. There are also my friends and family. There are many times that

I've failed all of them but they never gave up on me. They saved me from many mistakes though

I don't really know if they did it on purpose or it just came out that way. The important thing is

that I learned something. Whether they wanted to or not, they became my teachers.

There are many times when I'm filled with pride whenever I remember them. They taught me

something that I kept in my heart even though it wasn't necessarily about math and science. And

sometimes I wonder if they remember me. Even if they didn't, I would know that at some point

in my life, they were my role models, my idols, and my heroes. Come to think of it, they still are.
