THE HOLES

Segment 13

The Warden proposed that three people dig, and the other three help collect the piles of sand.
The goal was to dig two times faster. The ones choosen to dig were Zero, Armpit and Squid,
and his assistants would be Zigzag, Magnet and Caveman. The reward for the those who find
something was the day off and a double shower. They finished the day until They dug a hole
6 feet deep and wide. The friends already in their resting place had been talking about the
existence of cameras through which they were being watched. But Stanley didn’t believe.
The next day was the same. They dug from the same way. Although Caveman had the idea
of telling the Warden where to find the gold tube, he was afraid of getting into trouble. Then
Mr. Pendaski called Stanley, a letter had reached him. It was from his mother.

Segment 14

Stanley’s mom wrote that she was proud of him and that his dad was still using the invention
of recycling shoes. The next week, they kept digging until the three holes made a giant hole.
Caveman was hurt by the stroke of the shovel. Stanley was bleeding, but he got up, and
continues working normally, a little dizzy. After the workday decided to write a letter to his
parents. But Zero gossiped him. However, Zero could not read or write. Stanley told him that
he didn’t know how to teach, his heart was already a bit hard.

Segment 15

Stanley realized that Squid was crying at night. Squid threatened that he didn’t talk about that
topic. Stanley was happy that there was no racism in the group. When the boys were digging,
Magnet surprised with some seeds. However, the complete bag fell accurately into the hole.
At that moment, the truck was arriving. Stanley was nervous. He started checking every hole
when he arrived at the place. By the time, Mr. Sir reached Stanley, he realized that he had
found something. That was the empty sack of seeds. Stanley accepted that he had stolen the
sack of seeds and that he had eaten them all. Mr. Sir sent him directly in the truck, but Stanley,
oddly enough, he felt happy.
