Safety 1.1 Standard Uses ‘The SpeedMixer™ can be used for mixing pastes, pastes with powders, powers \with Powders etc. Typical areas of applications are the mixing of sealants and coatings (such as silicones, urethanes and acrylics), paints, inks and pigments. Furthermore, the SpeedMixer"™ és well suited for mixing of one, two or multi-component liquids and pastes 1.2 Precautionary measures When the SpeedMixer™ is used property, complete safely is assured. However, there is the ‘isk of injury when the machine is used or handled incorrectly. Only trained operators should be allowed to use the SpeedMixer. Manufacturer guidelines limit the use of the SpeedMixer to non-explosive, non-flammable materials. If high energy / explosive, or flammable materials are ultlized. users must implement adequate safety procedures based upon their own experience and expertise with ‘Such materials, in accordance with all published industry-standard safety practices Hauschild & Co. KG and FlackTek, Inc. can accept no liability, nor can we suggest altemate safety guidelines, for the use of a Speediiixer outside of published parameters. ‘The SpeedMixer™ should never be operated empty or overweight (21509). In this case, the system is not balanced and will result in vibrations. The complete device may move which might lead to damages in the proximity and, in the worst case, to injury. Only suitable mixing Cups together with suitable cup holders should be used (see 4.3.1.). The SpeedMixer DAC 150.1 is equipped with a vibrations sensor. In case this sensor is triggered, you will see an according message in the display. By pressing the start button or by setting the machine to on and off, this message can be reset. We explicitly point out that for security reasons the unauthorized opening of the device's housing, maintenance, or modification of the SpeedMixer™ (including the available software andlor the parameter values) will lead to the expiration of ‘manufacturer's guarantee. The SpeedMixer™ product line is equipped with a frequency convertor for the motor. Leakage currents of frequency converters can potentially be dangerous. A universal ACIDC sensitive fault-current circuit breaker, whose frequency-response curve is adjusted to the typical leakage currents of frequency converters, is recommended. A safe environment can be achieved based on draft of the VDE regulation EN 61008-2-1 (09/2007) [VDE 0664 Part 100 (RCD Type B)] and EN 0178, Technical Reasons: {In case of isolation errors in the frequency converter a DC current can occur, which will drive the transformer core of a commercial fault-current circuit breaker into saturation. This way, the protective switch is seriously affected in its function Furthermore, the line filters used in the SpeedMixer™ generate leakage currents within the protective earthing conductor. Line filters are necessary to observe the legally required EMV safety measures {electromagnetic compatibility, also called wireless interferences). These leakage currents can add themselves during operation with other devices using line filers and thus release the RCD (Residual Current protective Device) circuit breaker. Remedy: We recommend a retrofitting of the power supply system with an ACIDC sensitive residual current circuit breaker by an electrician. You can get more information from suppliers of AC/DC sensitive residual current circuit breakers, e.g. on www.Doepke,de Please address further requests to FlackTek, inc. using the following e-mail addre: spe at dmixer@flacklek, 1.3 Authorized Users Before operating the SpeedMixer™, each user should have read the instruction manual.
