STATE INTRODUCTION

Hi my name is Jazmin and I pick South Carolina because the weather

over there hot and sometime cold.I know that South Carolina is the eighth
state. South Carolina nickname is The Palmetto State. It got it nickname
during the Revolutionary War.

When South Carolina became a state it was May 23,1788.

When South Carolina it add to the union it was the same day as May
23,1788 and South Carolina is the eighth state of United state.

This is one the forest in south carolina. The mountains look so cool
and have amazing sunset. There so many plains in south carolina. The
Chihuahuan Desert is the largest in North America. The valleys are call
Spring Gully and Poplar Hollow.

The Waccamaw river is one of South Carolina river and it the most
beautiful river. Lake Jocassee is one of South Carolina lake also there all
kind of fish in Lake Jocassee. South Carolina has a humid subtropical
climate,with hot summer and mild winters.The weather right now is 84
F|C,Summer not over in August-Summer weekend can last into October.

Natural resources of included rich soil,minerals,limestone,peat and

sand and gravel,gold,granite,mica,sand,vast forest,pines,oaks and
more.Tobacco,soybean,cotton,and corn,wheat,peanuts,hay,and
oat,vegetables.Peach are an important fruit crops in South
Carolina.Important South Carolina vegetables
included,tomatoes,cucumbers,watermelons,squads,beans,and sweet
potatoes.

Vanna White,born on February 18,1957,in North Myrtle Beach,South

Carolina,worked as a model as a professional model before joining the
game show wheel of fortune in 1982 as co-host. She’s was responsible for
uncovering the letter on the show’s large puzzle board and modeling an
ever-changing line design.

Television game show hostess and actress.Later in 1982, White got

the a job would maker her career. She was chosen out of 200 applicant to
join new host and former weatherman,Pat Sajak, in the NBC game show.
The show met with tremendous success over the next several years,and by
1986 syndicated evening version attracted 30 million viewer,twice as many
as No.2 Syndicated program,and grossed 100 million a year.Also she
appeared in one of the episode of the TV series Star of the Family in 1982.

Mary Mcleod Bethune was born on July 10,1875 in Mayesville,South

Carolina.And Mary Mcleod Bethune founded the National Council of Negro
women in 1935 Mcleod Bethune was a leading educator and civil right
activist.She grew up in poverty as one 17 children born to former
slaves.Bethune complete her studies there two years later.

Mary Mcleod Bethune was an educator,an Organizer,and a political

activist.On October 3, 1904, Bethune of the first school for African
American girl.Daytona Beach,Florida,Which now it call Bethune- cookman
college.Civil right activist best known for starting a private for African
American students.She believed eductions provided the key to racial
advancement.

Eartha Kitt was born in January 17,1927 and place of birth North,SC.
Kitt was born Eartha Mae Keith on a cotton plantation near the small town
of North in Orangeburg county,South Carolina.Her mother Annie Mae Keith
was of cherokee and African descent.However,Kitt Shapiro has Questioned
the accuracy of the claim.It has been widely reported that her father was a
German descent.

Eartha Kitt was an American singer,actress,dancer,activist and

comedian.Known for her highly distinctive singing style and her 1953
recordings.Eartha Kitt became popular in paris as a nightclub singer.Then
returned to U.S to appear in film and on broadway.Her 1953 recording of
“Santa Baby”is still a favorite today.

What I like about South Carolina,Beautiful festivals, beaches, and

national parks.I would go South Carolina because South carolina grant free
school.South Carolina interesting things are Broadway at beaches,
congaree National parks,and Myrtle Beach SkyWheel.
