David Fowler doesn’t


look like the average pas-
tor.
“I might be a little rough
around the edges,” admit-
ted Fowler, who is cele-
brating ten years of so-
briety and recovery from
alcohol and drug addic-
tion. “But I’ve always had
an old soul.”
It was his heart for the
elderly that convinced
Fowler, a Byrnes High
graduate, to begin his
work at Greer Rehabilita-
tion and Healthcare Cen-
ter. Fowler took over for
the former pastor Daniel
L. Phillips, who passed
away in September.
