Religious Ceremonies
Congratulations to all of our pupils who received their Holy Communion and Confirmation during the week. They
were blessed by some super weather! Thanks to the parents who helped out preparing the room and helping with
the teas after the Communion ceremony on Saturday, staff for preparing the children.
Muintir na Tire School Garden Competition
We have been working hard on the many elements of our school garden. 3 rd & 4th class prepared tilled and weeded
the boxes for planting. They planted sweet peas and herbs in mini green houses in the classroom and they made
radish and basil seed tape. They planted carrot, runner beans, patty pan squash, pumpkin and sunflower seeds in
the garden. They also planted lots of flowers, strawberry and blueberry shrubs. As chief engineers 5th & 6th class
built some flat pack planters and helped to refurbish the bug hotel. 3rd & 4th made ladybird houses and seed feeders
for the birds. After the long winter we are delighted to see so much happening in the garden and we look forward to
welcoming the Muintir na Tire judges on Monday and of course wildlife such as bees, insects and birds.
Tennis
Tennis lessons have concluded thanks to Antoine for the superb job. The kids loved it but they made an awful
racket.
