Tam currently finalizing my appointments to the Authority Board and should have them designated in the near future. In order to move forward with the work of the Authority, I ask each of you to put forward your designees by June 1, which is in accordance with statute. We would like to hold an initial meeting of the Authority on June 18, We will be in touch with details as they are finalized, ‘The Authority consists of eleven members: - Two appointed by the Governor, one of which will be from GOED - One appointed by the Speaker of the House - One appointed by the President of the Senate - One appointed by the Salt Lake County Mayor - One appointed by the city manager of West Valley City - One appointed by the chairman of the Community Impact Board - The Chair of the Salt Lake Airport Advisory Board, or their designee - The Salt Lake City Council member whose district includes the area - The Executive Director of Utah Department of Transportation (UDO! - The director of the Salt Lake County office of Economic Development Tbelieve we all understand the unique and significant opportunity before us to ensure that the Inland Port develops into a powerful economic engine for the State. This truly is a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to capitalize on prime real estate in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Inland Port project will significantly enhance Utah’s position as a world-class business destination. Itis my pleasure to acknowledge the good work that has already taken place on this project by the Inland Port Committee. We can build upon the foundation they prepared with their research and gathering of public input. I also want to stress the importance of proceeding with this project in a transparent manner that avoids any appearance of conflict of interest and includes a process that is above reproach, and faithfully implements the law as enacted in the 2018 general session of the legislature. look forward to seeing the Authority move forward on this critical project.
