DISCOVERY EARLY YEARS

A BEACONHOUSE SCHOOL

Project Letter – Term II

Kindergarten
Dear Parents,

We are writing to tell you about an exciting project we have started in our class.

As you know that we in Discovery Early Years focus on Project-based learning that is student
centered. Instead of using a rigid lesson plan that directs a learner down a specific path of
learning outcomes or objectives, project-based learning allows in-depth investigation of a
topic worth learning more about. With Project Based Learning, children learn to plan and
research, ask questions, make choices within alternatives, and apply knowledge gained within
their regular classes. They gain a chance to have real life experience and can think
analytically.

Our project is called “Moody Foodie” It starts with a problem question “How does food affect
our mood”

The subjects integrated in this project are Communication

Language and Literacy and Knowledge and Understanding of
the World around Us

Students will be actively involved in identifying, inquiring and

investigating about their knowledge about various food that
they eat daily and bring to school

Learners will conduct an inquiry about the food groups and how
healthy eating habits change our health and lifestyle

As a parent, we would be obliged if you can discuss the project at home, encouraging the
child to think about it and ask questions about the topic.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the project.

Sincerely,
Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Hamna, Ms. Rita and Ms. Sehrish
