How Short-Term Professional Goals Were Met

Short Term Goal #1: Apply to Pacific University by November 1st, 2017.
I turned in my Common Application and necessary documents to Pacific University a few days
before November 1st, 2017. I emailed Jeff Grundon, who is the senior associate director of admissions if I
could submit my new ACT score to superscore my previous test scores, to hopefully earn money in my
financial aid award package. I was unable to take the ACT until February instead of December because I
had a scholarship interview at the same time and day, which meant I waited until March to receive any
information regarding admissions. I didn’t study as I initiated but I did improve in math and writing. I got
accepted to Pacific University in early March and awarded a decent amount of money in scholarships and
grants, especially for a private school where I plan to pursue a career in Optometry after undergrad.

Short Term Goal #2: Job Shadow at Teplick Custom Vision, an NVISION Company by May 4th, 2018.
I did not call or schedule arrangements to meet with Dr. Teplick, the owner of Teplick Custom
Vision, by Friday, May 4th. Having my calendar already planned out for the rest of school year, I invested
my time focusing on my other classes preparing for the AP Statistics exam, health sciences portfolio, and
on assignments for my other classes. I did, however, went back to Vivid Eye Care, the eye clinic I
interned for my ELO, to talk about school and if I can get trained before graduate school. I will email
them and tell them my schedule during the summer so I have more time focusing on this internship and
not have to balance school and homework as I initiated to shadow at Teplick. During the summer, I will
reach out to different eye clinics to shadow at in different settings - public or private, so I can get as much
experience as possible.

Short Term Goal #3: Graduate as an Honors Student from Century High School with a Chancellor's
Diploma on June 8th, 2018.
I will be graduating with Honors and a Chancellor’s Diploma on June 8th, 2018 at Century High
School. I took at least 4 AP/Dual Credit courses and maintained a cumulative 3.87 GPA. I am currently
on track in passing all of my classes and required classes to graduate, including English 12, Economics,
People and Politics, and Senior Seminar. I have passed all my essential skills as well as done at least
10-15 hours or more in community service in which I will be receiving a Blue and Gold cord as a member
in the National Honor Society. I have done more than the bare minimum in academics and extracurricular
activities which contributes to my success.
