    This study examined perceptions of rural people in the Yorogo-Yipala community of Burkina Faso regarding persons with physical disabilities. A survey was conducted with 100 respondents to understand attitudes and beliefs. The results showed that most respondents held negative perceptions and stereotypes of persons with disabilities as being dependent and unable to work or contribute to society. However, some positive perceptions also emerged of persons with disabilities as deserving of compassion.
