The Pre-Columbian America

Thesis: While we often think America starts with Columbus there is an older ancient story. He did
not discover a new world but created a new world.

1) Ancient Migration

- Indians crossed over Beringia, The Bering Straight. A continent of ice between Russia
and Alaska

- They traveled 3 different main paths; 3 groups each a different language and migration paths.

- 1800BCE Asian hunters reached the tip of South America, Terra del Fuego.

- After the ice melted, game became easier to find.

- Women mostly farmed (Hunter gathers) and most of their societies
