SK RTP BUKIT GOH 2018

PROGRAM : ENGLISH DAY ( WEDNESDAY )


DURATION : 10 minutes
PARTICIPATION : All pupils from Y1 – Y5

OBJECTIVES :

1) Improve pupils language in listening and reading skills.


2) Enrich pupils vocabulary.
3) Built up pupils selves confidences.
4) Improve teachers’ language proficiency.
5) Grow language interest in pupils’ selves.

ACTIVITIES :

1) Pupils line up in classes from Y1-Y5.


2) Teachers provide activities such as singing, read short passages from text
books, poem or short stories.
3) All the activities must be done by pupils and teachers work as facilitators.
4) Teacher will ask a pupil to come in front to read and repeat by other
pupils.
5) After each activity, teachers will ask 5 pupils from each year to state at
least 3 words, they had learnt for that day, with meanings.
6) Teachers make corrections for any false pronunciations and meanings.

PROGRAM : WORD WISE


PARTICIPATION : Y1-Y6

OBJECTIVES :
1) To enrich pupils vocabularies.
2) To help pupils understand the questions, built simple sentences and write
essays in their examinations.
3) Improve teachers’ language proficiency.
4) Grow language interest in pupils’ selves.

ACTIVITIES :
1) For Level 1 (Y1-Y3), pupils will be provided with at least 3 words/day
with meanings.
2) For Level 2 (Y4-Y6), pupils have to find meanings of words, at least 5
words/day.
3) Pupils write all the words and meanings in English 3 (Vocabulary).
4) Teachers check the book and make corrections for any wrong answers.

PROGRAM : 6 WORDS
TIME : Every Wednesday
PARTICIPATION : Y6

OBJECTIVES :
1) To enrich pupils vocabulary.
2) Built pupils’ selves confidence.
3) Grow language interest among pupils.

ACTIVITIES :
1) All Year 6 pupils ( 4 classes ) will be given same 6 words with meanings
every Wednesday.
2) The words will be written at their class whiteboard and they have to
memorize all the meanings.
3) Pupils will be asked for the words on next Wednesday.
4) Teachers pick pupils randomly and make corrections for false meanings.
5) Rewards are given to pupils that can memorize all the words with
meanings.
