User-Centred Design Approach 2

1) How can a user-centered design approach help Mongkok Post Office improve Post?

Mongkok Post Office post office was founded in the year 1841. In the year 1995 Hong

Kong office started other operation as a trading fund. During this time this post office had opened

129 offices through the whole of Hong Kong. User- centered design is a very unique iterative

process which mainly focuses on the users and their needs in the needs of the design process. The

user- centered design must involve the users thought the entire design process. This mainly aims

at creating a very usable products with by the Mongkok post office. The repetition of the user-

centered design approach that the Mongkok post office to improve its posts include the four

different phases. First of all, the designers have to understand the setting of how the users might

use the system. The user requirements have to be identified (Cartier et al., 2017). A design phase

usually follows and in this phase the developers have to identify the solutions that can be

implemented very easily. The design team can then proceed to the evaluation phase and in this

phase the team should check whether the design is performing well. This can be done by Mainly

carrying out interviews with workers of the Mongkok Post Office. This can also be done by

evaluating of how close the system matches with the system which had been designed and how

the developed system is able to satisfy the needs of the users. The UCD is usually composed of

the four main stages (Yip et al., 2016).

If the UCD design is implemented effectively then the Mongkok Post Office will be able

to: build a totally committed and a very valued workforce, achieve the highest levels of the

customers satisfaction, develop a very sustainable businesses so that the resources can be used in

the future and lastly in will help this organization to respond to changes in a very unique way. This

will mainly help to reduce the changes that occur in the organization. The UCD designers have to

base their understanding on the end user of the system. They should also base their understanding

and design on the environment. These processes mainly aim at capturing the experience of the user

and this will in turn help to build the productivity of the Mongkok Post Office. The design team

must also include the professional. The professionals that should be contacted include the software

engineers, the hardware engineers and the physiologists. These experts may carry out the

evaluation of the designs system and this will help to ensure that the system doesn’t have any

problem. One of the main problem that the new system was mainly designed to solve was the

reduce the congestion in the counter area. This was very inconvenient for the customers and also

to the employees also. For instance, if the customer wants to buy a ne envelop then he will have to

leave the counter and head to the storage room. This problem then had to be solved (Wyly et al.,

2015).

2 )To improve the overall value proposition of Mongkok Post Office, the needs. Ethods.

Convincing the users into every stage of the design process then needs more effort and

therefore Mongkok Post Office should put more effort so that its employees can accept the new

system. If the UCD is properly implemented then the end products of the Mongkok Post Office

are more likely to meet the user’s expectations and the requirement. This in turn will help to

increase more sales in the organization. UCD also will help to reduce to risk of a certain error to

occur. This will be leading to the production of the safer products. UCD also help to focus o all

the users of a certain product and this will mainly help to create a very sustainable business. The

Mongkok Post Office should use the user centered design and this will mainly help to improve the

user experience. This can be applied to all the products that are being sold. For instance, this will

help the users to understand the users’ needs regarding the products, the different tasks and the

user flows (López-Morales et al., 2016).

The Mongkok Post Office implement this through the entire customer experience. This will

directly make the company to make very huge profits. The usability is also very important because

it helps because it can help to perform a certain task very accurately and this will help to reduce

certain errors which can occur in the organization. the maintain of the UCD is to Mongkok Post

Office to produce the products that have a high degree of the usability. The objectives of the

usability mainly include: usability and this will enable the products to meet its goals. The second

objective is the effectiveness and this will enable the Mongkok Post Office measure the speed of

its performance and this will also help to reduce the chance of any error occurring within an

organization. the third objective is the learnability and this will enable the users of the newly used

system to learn how to use it. This will also enable the infrequent learn to learn how to use the

system. Finally, the last objective is the attitude and this focuses on the user’s perceptions, opinions

and this are mainly obtained through the written communication. The research team had

investigated why there was a long queue in the peak hours of the day in the post office and therefore

the had a task of developing a new system that will mainly help to curb this problem. One of the

main problem that was identified was that the small business owners and this was the main

problem. Therefore, a new section to handle this kind of parcels had to be established. This will

help to reduce this problem (Shin et al., 2016).
