Comments on Substructure and Foundation km 118+508 steel composite bridge

1)Shape of piers P1 and P2 can be kept same 4.8 x1.2 m with oval at ends .

2) Main Reinforcement in pier P1 can be reduced by 25%.

3)For the abutment A1/A2 Foundation width can be reduced by 1.5 m.

5) Lifting jacks can be provided more number under the concrete diaphragms.

6)Superstructure 48m steel composite girder

a)Depth of girder can reduced to 2350mm from 2650 mm

b)Bottom plate thickness can be reduced to 50 or 60 m from90 mm

c)Fatigue , compressive strength, pre camber calculations to be revised as per relevant

code clauses.

d) Intermediate vertical stiffner calculations are not clear, please correct.

f) Deck slab Grade can be reduced to M35 or M40.
